Other than the Surplus store on Broadway and Hampden and it's affiliate in Westminster or Thornton (the one off of the Boulder Turnpike and Pecos), does anyone know of a LOCAL source for 20mm or 30mm ammo cans? I'm looking to buy a couple but buying surplus stuff online strikes me as being kind of hit-or-miss. I don't need perfect condition by any means but I need them to be structurally sound which is why I'd like to look at them in person.

I know the surplus stores SOMETIMES have them but not always. Just wondering if there's another source locally (Denver metro area) I can check out.

Thanks!

The last ones I bought have been from Sam's and Costco. They don't have any right now but I bet they will have them soon.

Ammo Can Rick in C. Springs, dude sells nothing but surplus stuff, usually has stacks of ammo cans. Just look for ammo cans on Craigslist in the Springs.

Down River Equipment and AAA Inflatables usually have a bunch. Very popular with whitewater rafters.

I?ll second that. He?s on Natchez about a block or two south of Oxford. He usually has a good supply of 50 cal. & 40 mm cans on hand.
The 20 & 30 mm might be difficult, I ordered the 5 Ammo can deal ( 1 - 30 mm, 2 - 50 cal. cans and 2 - 30 cal. cans ) from MidWay the last time e they were on sale and offering free shipping.

Don?t take your check book, or you will most likely leave with a vintage armored scout car......

The surplus store on Alameda just a bit west of Santa Fe has/had many ammo cans at low prices. They even stocked some old WWII/Korean War era cans in decent condition.

Is that still there? I thought it was long gone.

EDIT: Well, I guess it is! And their web page even has a drop-down menu for "ammo boxes."

So I think that's my answer.

Thanks!

Last time I was in there the ammo can selection was pretty thin, but there's all KINDS of cool stuff in that place! I can spend hours browsing around in there.
