I've been calling it "cheedle" since the '80s. Was a Sniglet by Rich Hall and featured on the series Not Necessarily the News. Frito Lay decided to use it for marketing and trademarked "cheetle" more than 10 years ago. Now they're getting free advertising for a popcorn product dusted with the cheese flavoring.
