Wiper blades that don't suck?

Anyone have a good 20" blade recommendation for serious winter conditions? Currently have RainX Latitude that are good above freezing but the rubber gets hard in colder temps and totally sucks. Over the years we've tried Bosch and others. Seems like they all have sucked no matter the price. Online reviews are untrustworthy these days. Ever tried the SureWipe add-on springs? Have to cross Wyoming on I-80 again soon and it's usually brutal this time of year.

You want the best, get Silicone wiper blades ... they'll last forever. Downside is they're real expensive.

I just replace them often. I have also found that windshield washer fluid with Ran X helps a lot.

All wiper blades suck in the winter, especially if they get covered with snow or ice.

Rather than seek the holy grail of wiper blades I just try and toss a new set on every October and call it good.

Bosch Icons. Run them on my truck and change them 2x year.

Trucks sits outside 24x7x365.

Shop around. Last sets I bought on ebay from PEP Bros cheap. Like half price cheap.

Did you watch the video? He sure wasn't happy with it. The blades are engineered to be most effective, so making them thinner isn't a great idea.

They're not crazy expensive, so you're better off replacing them.

Yeah, he ruined the blades on pretty much every vehicle he had. [Coffee]

The hinged blades with a framework structure of multiple pivots don't do well with ice. I did have some winter blades that had the hinged structure within a sealed rubber boot that did pretty well, but they were also bulky. The beam type blades seem to do the best and they're pretty easy to clear of ice if they do get coated and become less effective.

If you have the standard J hook connections, Bosch 4820?s would be a good fit. I use them on all my vehicles and have no complaints.

I am actually using Peak brand which is purple, it has their own Rain X type formula. It goes on sale once a year at Ace for $1.49 a gallon, I buy a bunch.

Far and away the best blades I've ever used are the Bosch Icons. The rest (even more expensive) are trash by comparison. I've tried them all and now that's all I use on my cars and they're worth every penny. Depending on the length you need they tend to go for $15-$20 on Amazon from time to time. The shorter of ours I got for like $13 shipped but the longer one (28") is like $25 and almost never goes on sale. Either way, well worth the entrance fee IMO.

I made the mistake of trying lots that had a higher price tag and some seriously bold marketing statements that ended up being BS. Make sure they're the Icons though. Most manufacturers have several levels of blades and Bosch is no exception. The Icons are the good ones.
