Is there anyone here that is apart of an Amateur Radio (HAM radio) club in the North Metro area? Im looking into learning more about this and getting a license.

I am not a part of the club but got my license a couple of years ago. Use it in the Jeep. The initial test is pretty easy, I would suggest hamtestonline.com for exam prep.

There are several licensees, a couple of them either in clubs or know clubs, here on the forum.

There are a few comms related threads in Survival & Preparedness that also include licensing discussions, in case you missed them.

Ham Radio outlet sells study guides! The can also give information for where to take the exam. Also they can point you to folks who will teach you freely the skills needed to take the test! I have been enjoying this hobby for 25 years and have made contacts around the globe! Although I lean towards Morse Code exchanges,,, that is not required today to get on the air!

Yeah, that store on Iliff has been there forever.
Probably going to ask them for help on doing antennas and radios for HAM and CB in my truck.

Who doesn't have a 400 lb. Pig in the back of their truck?
The expertise comes in making the radios fit.

the Patriot VE team does the tests for free, and hosts a 5-6 cram session prior to the tests (that is not mandatory to take the tests they administer). You likely couldn't go in cold and just do the cram session and pass the test, and instead it's designed as a quick refresher from your online study.
no need to ever pay to take a ham test.
