So, I had this theory that roughly 60% of people are below average when it comes to intelligence.

I?ve decided today that I was wrong and that roughly 80% of people aren?t the sharpest tools in the shed.

So by my logic if you are even remotely smarter than the average idiot then that puts you in the top 20% of the worlds population.

You're being far too generous even at 80%, if you ask me.

Nope. I'm a 1%er. I took several IQ tests on facebook and they all said I'm smart...[dig]

Ha. I think being the top 1% on Facebook puts you somewhere just below 50% in the real world.

If you're getting your validation through Facebook, you have failed.

Most Americans read at the 7th grade level. Thats why I dropped out at the 10th grade. I need a MAGA webcam hat.

You should wear this patch on your clothes to let everyone know you are part of the elite:

I work with engineers and have an optimistic view of "average". my wife works with the public and is pretty sure most people aren't very intelligent.

Do you work with engineers outside of the narrow scope of their profession though?

Nope. And, with a few exceptions, the people I work with aren't interesting enough to do anything with outside of work. Weirdos, man. But smart weirdos.

My normal group of non-work friends consists of home builders, forest service guys, and mechanics. There's some nurses and other medical field people in there too. They are all pretty smart though. I don't have any software friends.

I mostly hang out with stupid people because it makes me look really smart.

You're closer to something than you think Ray. Check out this video about Zipfs Law and the Pareto Principle.

Top 20% of what top 20% of people calls it "bell curve."
Normal people just say "high iq dude" or "mensa man."
