I'd like to make a few changes to my 2018 Ram 1500. I need to recalibrate the speedo, change the tire pressure setting, remove the speed limiter (105 mph!!), and something else I can't recall at the moment. I don't have much interest in additional tunes, but would fiddle with it if I got the functionality as part of the deal.

I think I've heard of software you run on a laptop, and also dedicated programmers. That is the extent of my knowledge.

Can you guys recommend hardware or software to address my wants?

Look into AlfaOBD. Not sure if it can remove the limiter though.

I have not used the software. It is what I found looking around for your solution. Looks like it is gaining use amongst Dodge/Ram owners.

The App OBD JScan with a bluetooth OBD scanner should do all of that.

Why would you want to remove the speed limiter? Just curious as most are governed at 97mph so 105mph is an improvement over that.

Because racecar....

I removed mine for shits and giggles. Not likely to ever to go that fast in the truck though.

Neither of those support 2018's.

Yep use AlfaOBD. I have it and use the OBDLink MX for the tool....its the best one for AlfaOBD! Great little software and tool and you can really change any settings in the BCM! One word of caution, take notes on any changes you make so you can revert back if need be. You can download current BCM setting from the app to Google Drive too!

Tim,

Did you get hooked up on the bypass and software?

I have a different version of that bypass available in the TP because it wasn't suitable for my 3500.

Also, for anyone else seeing this, the AlphaOBD dev may have updated it but there was a few things it didn't do that Appcar DiagFCA is able to do.

Thx,

I ordered the better option bypass cable for my truck and already have an OBDII reader and licensed AlphaOBD.
