It's nice to see some creativity coming back to the commercials. You're paying a bunch for the spot, might as well make it memorable.

I honestly hate commercials. Loathe them.

We watch the super bowl tape delayed do we can skip the adds and halftime.

I agree, I prefer the commercials over the game more and more. I don't understand the companies that spend that kind of money for a spot and replay a commercial that has been around for months. As Gman said, "make it memorable".

Super Bowl weekend has turned into a production that just happens to have a football game that interrupts the other entertainment. There's more hype over half-time and pre-game than there is about the actual game.

The plethora of annual cliche comments about how much people don't care about the game is always almost as bad as the presumption that the others have that everyone's watching.

FWIW, I'm working, wouldn't watch anyway, who cares either way.

I think the NFL has done well to nip the protesting in the bud. The piece they did about our flag before the game was really well done. I felt it was a big FU to Kaepernick.

KOA starts the Bronco coverage at 8 am for a 2pm game.

Professional sports exist as a venue to sell advertising.

If the NFL, NBA, MLB, etc folded tomorrow I wouldn't lose a lot of any sleep. I feel the same way about most of Hollywood.

I thought the Canvas no BS commercials were great.

Those were local ad inserts. I didn't see any of them until late last night. I had never heard of Canvas CU before then. I never knew "Bank Slang" was such a problem.

I use an app called Downdetector that tracks reports of services that are having issues. I got a notification that Hulu was having problems and the users were complaining that the service crashed just before game time. Then they ran this;

Hulu ran a big Super Bowl ad promoting its live sports streaming just minutes after its Live service crashed for subscribers before the big game (https://www.businessinsider.com/people-say-hulu-live-was-crashing-right-before-super-bowl-2020-2)

Hulu had an interruption streaming the 2018 game as well.
