I read about a need once & have several nice pieces of medium sized luggage that I'd like to donate.

Pm or post info here please. Thanks!

Update on the original query:

After a bit of research it appears there is not an organization specific to this reoccuring need in the Denver metro area so I'm coordinating a donation directly with Denver Human Services - Foster Care.

My drop-off appointment is scheduled a couple of weeks out which gives me a little time to mention that if anyone has a gently used suitcase of any size that they would like to donate, I'd be happy to pick up & deliver on your behalf, at the same time I make my donation.

Thanks.

To the mods: I think this is a better fit for the wanted section. Please move if you agree. Thank you.

I just saw these guys today with a table full of backpacks. They wanted you to buy a backpack and then immediately donate it back for kids in need to use as luggage during transitions. https://www.childhelp.org/states/colorado/

Actually luggage would be better IMO.

I contacted several groups who have 'outreach' programs in Colorado but are not based here... none of them were interested in gently used suitcases, only money.

Still glad you posted the info.

You might also consider Men's and Women's homeless/struggling/addiction foundations. The Stout Street Foundation here in Denver helps homeless/addicted get back on their feet. A nice new set of luggage for them might be a great transition point.

I've got a contact in child protective services I can hit up if you'd like. Also, there are a few halfway houses around town that might be interested.
