It's finalized I'm moving to Colorado. Because of this, as much as I heard many, many different sides of the mag issue in the state (and contacted CO law enforcement), I was generally advised bringing 15+ mags into CO no matter any workaround or law on the books would be a bad idea. Because I'm a "play it safe" kinda guy, I sent all my mags for my various firearms out to a gunsmith out here prior to moving to have them permanently magblocked using mag blocks from magblocks.com
Maybe unlike some, 15 rounds is fine for my needs at the range. And IDK, after move #3 (counting this upcoming one) I'm ready to be done moving. So I'm okay that the work is irreversible.
That way I can keep all my current mags but remain compliant. I'm probably going to get tons of crap for this, but I'm doing it now while I have time. That, and I have my feelings on this. My gunsmith is also going to write me a letter stating the work done and that the mags are CO compliant, if I ever need it.
Stay tuned. Don't have them back quite yet.
Make sure you send a copy of your letter to the ATF and ask them if you're good to go.

I'd rather it be a waste of money and consciously made the effort to be a compliant future Colorado resident than risk end up being "that guy".
In the long run the money I'm out is small.

I suspect Colorado is going to be very hard on you so if you haven't already, don't forget to stock up on your supply of Vagisil, dude.

I get no one probably cares and I could have probably gotten by without, but I interned at a law office last summer for fun and learned quickly people who "hoped for the best" and did nothing about something quickly got into trouble and needed an attorney. And that was here.
You can call me whatever you want. However, I walked away from that internship having a greater respect for the law and the power it enthralls when people don't respect its power and what it can do.

Me too. The likelihood of ANY LEO wanting to inspect your magazines borders slim to nonexistant. Depending on where you're shooting of course.
Having a couple of ringers on hand at sketchy ranges is a good idea, but where I shoot is not necessary. Certain LEO's have access, but they ain't gonna give any shits.

I?m not calling you anything. The sheriffs literally don?t care. All but a few said they wouldn?t enforce it.
If it becomes an issue, it?s because of a real issue where the mags are an afterthought.
How anyone can respect the giant pile of bullshit we call the ?law? is beyond me. What you mean to say is you fear the fact that a DA can pound your ass with a reversed spine phallus 6 ways to Sunday if they so choose. The mag blocks won?t stop that. Not even restrict it to ?just the tip?.

First of all I'm not butt hurt at all, wasn't even butt hurt at the time of that exchange. Many of my mags hold more than 10, but I only load 10. If I can't get it done in 10, I don't deserve to live.
