[Rant1][Rant1][Rant1][Rant1] Rant alert !
Don?t trust King Soopers grocery delivery.
My wife made a delivery order early this morning and it was supposed to be delivered by 1530 hrs (3:30 PM to those that can?t wrap their minds around military time). I arrived home around 1745 hrs (5:45 PM) and no groceries. I had her get onto her account and there was a notice that the order had been canceled. No email to tell her it was canceled, we checked her email account (including the spam/junk filter).
So I checked my bank account and King Soopers has charged me for the purchase including delivery fees and has not refunded the purchase.
Trying to get through on the phone is impossible, their phone system options lead you in a circle to a message ? Do to a high volume of calls, please try your call again.? No matter which option you choose.
Now I will have to go down to the store we ordered from and be a big asshole over having the order canceled by some asshat and not refunding my card.[Rant1] [Rant1][Rant1][Rant1] Rant over.....
I will wait until I am off work tomorrow and see if the charge is cleared. Before going there......

Lucky for them that the traffic at quitting time is so much lighter than normal, so I won?t be able to build up a decent case of road rage to vent on them.... But I will cough in their face and tell them that I am under self quarantine until the test results get back.

King Soopers supplies our question marks. We've asked them to cancel them but they don't seem to be responding. Something about dealing with irate customers.

5.5/10 middle fingers. Needs more swearing and out-of proportion reactions, like burning stuff to the ground. Still, a reasonable attempt, just not good enough to be a contestant on "so you think you can rant".

As Bert's buddy, I'm pretty surprised I didn't read about any barrel cactuses.

Besides I would rather they be plagued with Chola Cacti. Because it has puntas in its scientific name......

King Soopers is a big operation, I think they'll take care of you. And if they don't, I suggest you call your bank, they can help resolve this.
Speaking for myself, my debit card only goes into ATMs. Everything goes on the credit card for a few reasons. The reason that's pertinent here is the purchase protection.
Remember, there are cameras everywhere in there, and the last thing you want is to get trespassed at the supermarket over something that can be worked out. Heck, they might even give you some store credit if you're cool about it.
Come to think of it, I'd ask for some store credit as compensation for your time and aggravation. I bet they do something for you.

Kings does a temporary hold when you place the order, then a final charge at pickup (so if something is out of stock, you aren't charged). They do the hold initially to ensure that it worth their time to have someone get your stuff for an hour.

The hold will clear.

why wait when you can go down to the store and be an a-hole to someone who had nothing to do with the issue and can't respond to you in the way they'd prefer?

I did a test order with Amazon/Whole Foods the other day. Maybe I got lucky, but they were spot on with delivery timing and product. The "let us pick the substitution" worked great as well. I did not try produce or meat, just some refrigeration-indifferent items.

Not that I plan on using this for myself, but in case I need to help out some elderly family.

We got about half our latest order. Charged for the whole order but then refunded the balance.

Honestly I’d give it a couple days given what’s going on, but an ass chewing will relieve the stress!

sorry, but I guess to me with everything that is going on, I could probably find something else to rant about. BUT, to each their own. Rant on....

My 1st delivery last week went okay, a few substitutions that I didn't mind. I have a pickup today at 12 we'll see how that goes, avoiding that $10 delivery charge and first 3 pickups have no charge.

Just signed up for pick up service at Kings. Placed my order, pick it up Saturday 6p, curious to see how it goes, I’ll report back.

My first pickup today went fine. Few substitutions but I can live with that, rather have a substitute than nothing. I was there at 12:00 and home by 12:20,I even ran into the store for a supply of allergy pills. I think that time of day may be better than the opening time.

I went to King Sooper yesterday 3/24. I used my card for 68 dollars. Today I was dinged for three different charges leading over $1000. I even got a subscription for match.com and 450 to Jon wright.
Anyway my card is compromised.

And the wife actually got through to King Soopers on the phone today, and I garuntee that they would have preferred to deal with me in person than her on the phone.
They will do a refund, but will not show on my account for 3 -5 days.

I used King Soopers delivery for a few years when I was a caregiver and didn't have much spare time.

They will take care of your concerns, I'll say that first.

But just to give some background,
I think you can choose whether to allow them to substitute an item, or not. So if you will only accept Charmin, you can say that. :)
Otherwise, give them free reign for substitution. They will try their best. If you end up with something wholly inappropriate, just ask to return it.
They will also miss items, report it, and put it on your next order.

I've never used curbside, but I think the experience (what you get) will be similar.

I do think it is quite a bargain, for what they do, especially if you have a big shopping list.

With the stores being mainly empty today, however, please be prepared to ask them to shop often for items you need, with SUBSTITUTIONS.

Maybe they don't have Uncle Ben's rice, but they have Kroger rice. Good enough.

They shop locally, so the same store that you would normally go to... what they have is what you get.

ego,
I am aware of their substation option, which I checked the box for, the order I had was just canceled without reason or emailing to give us notice and still charged us for it.

That's not good, obviously.

I would call them and make friends with the operator. You'll likely be calling a lot. They are not perfect by any means.

But what they offer, groceries delivered to your home, is pretty good.

Good luck!

Weren't there a couple different Soopers locations that accidentally put diesel in the gas tanks at their stations? And many people had cars that got HUGE repair bills from such accident. And Soopers didn't want to cover the damages? Just 6 months ago or so...?

The restaurant supply store in Fort Collins had 50 lb bags of Calrose rice, brown rice, and instant rice. What restaurant serves that much instant rice?

Yes and no.
It was only one location in Brighton.
King Soopers did not put the gas/diesel in the fuel center tanks. They use a 3rd party fuel delivery company, as does 99% of fuel retailers, and this delivery driver pumped diesel into the wrong holding tank.
King Soopers insurance company, Sedgwick, handled all of the claims.

Ah, I stand corrected. The second place was a Circle K in Boulder and happened in Feb.

Last I heard about the Soopers gas mix-up was a month after the fact there were still people who hadn't received any compensation for the repairs or the rental cars they got stuck driving.

Probably accurate about being reimbursed. It’s too bad that it happened to those people and hopefully they received the compensation that they deserved.
