Getting a friend into shooting and I want to train him on 12 gauge with some low recoil 00 buck. That's what I trained with back in the day and thought it was a good compromise. I only have defensive loads and dont want to dislocate a new shooters shoulder but also dont want to buy a ton of rounds, so the shipping online isnt worth it. I know nothing is available anywhere right NOW, but does anyone know if a local place to find such a thing during non panic times? Would prefer around 60 to 70 cents a round otherwise online starts to look like it's worth shipping.

Silly question, but if it?s just for practice then what?s wrong with birdshot?

Nothing really but he wants to use his shotgun for home defense so while he is learning I think it would be good to have the round he can use for defense. In time I'm sure he could use a hotter load. I also want him to see how his shotgun patterns with something similar to what he will use for home defense.

sportsmans usually carries the rio royal brand, low recoil in 12 & 20 ga.
