Anyone here running in ear electronic ear pro ? Muffs piss me off when shooting rifles. Ive got a set of Howards that I like but seems like sometimes I end up doubling up with plugs also. Id like to be able to wear them hunting too if possible.
Experience good or bad appreciated.

The peltor tep rechargeable ones are super nice but expensive. And one of my buds died after a year. Now using Walkers silencer. Nice, but hate always changing the hearing aid batteries it uses. Also picks up wind noise when outside. Kinda annoying but sound protection is great and comfy. Priced good too. Batteries not bad on amazon.

I'm looking to get these:

I like that they have bluetooth. I have a pair of boothhtooth headphones that look like them, but you go deaf to everything around you, since they are made primarily for listening to music.

I use a pair for bird hunting. They work pretty well, but the battery only lasts 4 or 5 hours between charging.

I have 3m TEP100's, and I like them for the most part. Outdoors with a lot going on (like a match), they only last 2-4 hrs between charges... But they re-charge in less than 10 minutes. I generally alternate them with my Peltors depending on what I'm shooting and for how long. It's definitely nice to have the convenience without the bulk of muffs

Not electronic, but for hunting I use the surefire sonic defenders with the filter plug things open. It does make it harder to hear softer sounds, but normal talking voice is fine to hear. Knocks the report of the 12 ga down enough for me.

I wouldn?t use them open on a range as I don?t think it suppresses the sound enough for the constant firing. If you close the filter plugs they are just as good as other earplugs.

I use the surefires too. I like them enough I bought a second pair for the other vehicle. Not for shooting, but I use an Anker bluetooth neck headphone that cuts demo saw noise enough, and I can still hear text alerts.

I've been running the Soundgear platinum (https://www.soundgearhearing.com/products/custom-product) custom fit units for a while now and honestly I wish I'd have done it sooner. Custom fit, comfortable retains directional hearing, and great suppression. Best part is you can use HSA or Flex account to pay for them. If interested I can point you in the direction of an audiologist that sells them at about 60% off MSRP.

I have that unit, found it off amazon for around $100 delivered. If you buy one and don't use the small foam covers LMK. I have in the wrap med & lg i can't use.
