Stoeger STR-9

Picked up the STR-9 on Thursday. Total investment $339, pistol with 4 mags shipped was $309 Transfer $30 First impression is good. Only had one mag That would drop free, trigger was a little heavy. Took it to the range yesterday and put 100 rounds through it. No issues, no malfunctions. Happy with the pistol to this point. More rounds and range time will tell. I did do a .25 cent trigger job on it after the range trip. Trigger does fill a little better. Found a safariland holster that the STR fits in.

From what I've read up on it, you may be able to smooth any molding marks in the magwell to assist with the mag issue. Folks returning their pistols for that reason were finding that was all the 'tech' did to resolve the issue, and the work wasn't performed all that carefully.

I took some fine sand paper to the mag well and was able to remove just enough material to get all the mags to drop free. I all so seen where the pistol was returned to Stoeger and the job they did was not the greatest.

Another 100 round down the barrel. No problems or issues.

I think most (all?) of the Turkish-made guns work well. The STR-9 proved very accurate when the NRA tested it.
