The guy deserved bigger roles given his skill at comedic art.

It also says a lot that he was married to the same woman for 50 yrs, which is practically unheard of in Hollywood.

R.I.P.

Wife and I shared an elevator ride in Vegas with him. Gracious gentleman.

RIP Mr Willard, you made us laugh.

Classic example of the actor that everyone remembers but can't remember exactly why until you go through a list of his roles. Seems like the directors and producers must have liked him a lot because he was busy up to the end, including in the upcoming series on Netflix, "Space Force".

Yeah, A Mighty Wind, Best In Show and even his spots on Modern Family were good. Hell, even getting caught floggin' his dolphin in the theater that one time was good for a giggle. And to think that most people just settle for the old 'lampshade-on-the-head' trick to get a laugh...

Sadly, an often overlooked show he was on was Fernwood Tonight, with Martin Mull. Extremely funny in a serious way.
Martin Mull is an interesting comic and musician, like Steve Martin. Not for everyone, but if you get the humor, even funnier
