Ever had a gun you only could dream of getting? One that invoked deep sense of nostalgia or one that was way too cool on a movie? I'd love to see you guns and hear your stories on why you loved a particular firearm!

I've been a Resident Evil fan for many years and I always wanted a Samurai Edge that the STARS team used in the game. I bought a couple airsoft pistols like that but I never once (for whatever reason) thought to build my own until now: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49958149058_d8548102c9_z.jpg (https://flic.kr/p/2j7Czcy)IMG_20200528_114403_172 (https://flic.kr/p/2j7Czcy) by Joshua Dees (https://www.flickr.com/photos/188692623@N07/), on Flickr

I love it so far and is currently in for the proper engravings.

Great looking gun. I've always been a fan of the Samurai Edge as well as the Beretta 92 series because of movies and games as well. I have a 96a1 that I hope to do similar with some day when I decide to put my money towards it.

As for dream guns I've always had a list of un-realistic semi realistic and realistic dream guns. Mostly based on a price/value scale. My biggest un-realistic gun is a Barret 50 cal I've always wanted one and maybe someday I will get to shoot one but I doubt I will ever buy one. My 96a1 was one of my realistic dream guns and I bought one last year. For semi realistic I've always wanted a Desert Eagle and I finally bought one a few weeks ago and was able to get it out to shoot today.

My first handgun was a MK1 IMI Desert Eagle. That thing was very very picky on ammo.
I really really had more fun just playing around at home than at t he range. [LOL]

Exactly having the desert eagle for 10 years, I finally sold it and hot a USP Tactical when it first came out.

My Springfield Armory Linkless 10mm, Linkless .40S&W and Omega. I'm also quite happy with my Remington XP-100 with a 4 digit serial number.

I got lucky with my first try on ammo. When I was shopping I couldn't find anything local and the cheapest places online were sold out so I went with Steinel 300 grain gold dot jhp 1500 fps ran great. Although I only shot it once one handed to try and it was last round but the slide caught open. We shot 6 mags 2 at a time with about 20 min between each set no issues. Although I will likely try some cheaper ammo when I get a chance.

That there is a sexy looking beast. I love it when people actually get the gun they've dreamed of owning. My first gun ever was an HK SL8-6 because I was mildly obsessed with the G36 platform. Fast forward 32 years and I decided to go ahead and take the full dive into the world. A very, very, very expensive dive. Here's the essence of the SL8 now. The internals are all SL8 save from the grip module.

Ignore the optic, I threw that on there for the pics

Iirc mk1 was in 357 only. Very finicky and would randomly engage the safety

The pictured gun is a much later model in a different caliber

I'm a gun nut and this is like patient-zero for my addiction.

This is a shooter. It gets a new set of springs every so often but otherwise is all original parts. All the serial numbers match and it has some decent rifling but it isn't considered rare.
This is was made in the mid 30's and exported to China (the Chinese characters say 'Made in Germany'), and then imported back to the US some time in the early 80's. Found it in a little antique gun store in Pittsburgh for $295!
Fun fact: The only screw in the gun is the one in the grip, otherwise it is just a big jigsaw puzzle.

Nice.

I can?t look at one of those without thinking of Han Solo though.

My factory MP5 SMG was a bit of grail gun for me, and I'm glad I have it.

My convertible, belt-fed HK21/23 is also a pretty rare and sexy beast, especially when I drop the registered trigger box in it.

Guess I wish I had a factory AUG, too - but I don't.

My actual MP5 with suppressor:

I know where there's a late 30's broom handle Mauser carbine, in 30 luger. ALL matching numbers, incl stock. BUT it's wayyy more than the money you paid.

S&W M13 Aircrewman. Can't afford one. Even if I could they rarely come up for sale and they're often faked.

I have several nice guns. Don't know that any are really "dream" guns, though.

Nothing special, just a nice, older Model 29. Could be my favorite:

I have yet to obtain anything on my dream gun list. Maybe some day.

Pretty sure my holy grail piece is an authentic first generation Colt single action army.

Good taste in guns. Owned a number of them myself. Both the AUG and the USR. The bottom photo is of a Steyr AUG CQC. It is the #1 US prototype. Never been fired. The AUG is definitely one of my dream guns. I don't ever see myself not owning an AUG. It might not be my go to gun in an emergency but certainly wouldn't hesitate in using it if things went bad.

Oooh how do you like the CQC? It intrigues me.

Color me jealous! A select fire MP5 is my biggest dream gun.

One of the few dream items I've been able to get. A Les Baer UTC in hard chrome. Changed out the sights to a 10-8 rear and Trijicon front, swapped the thin grips for standard thickness-much better feel for me. Picked it up a few years ago new. One of my sons is the current custodian but I still get to shoot it whenever I want.[Coffee]

Christensen Arms BA Tactical in 300 Win Mag.
Bought it in feb 2020 before the Covid craziness started and have built a number of loads for it this year. I’m actually going shooting tomorrow morning to try out a subtle adjustment on some 190gr SMK loads.

Uberti/Cimarron 1873 Long Range Deluxe Sporting Rifle in .45 Colt w/30" octagonal barrel. I'd REALLY love their 1876 in .50-95, but this is close enough! At least I can get/make ammo for this.

My first rifle was a lever action .22. Dad gave it to me when I was a little kid, maybe 8 or so. We used to drive way, way out east on Quincy and shoot under a bridge.

I can still see Dad with a can of Bud between his legs piloting his Toyota pickup that he bought new, drove it off the showroom floor, he'd say.

He told me the .22 would do until I could get a real cowboy rifle, a .30-30.

I came close in 2002 when I bought a Marlin in .357 with a 16" barrel. I showed it to him and he loved it. Now all you need is a matching .30-30 he said.

Cue the rapid fluttering of calendar pages.

Three weeks ago I was looking at the for sale section on this website. WillysWagon had a Marlin .30-30 with a 16 inch barrel for sale.

Shit.

I wasn't looking for a new rifle but sometimes things work out.

I now have a brand new, never fired .30-30 lever action that we have been talking about for 40 years. Dad passed almost 5 years ago, but I am certain he would approve.

I added a nice little leather sling and a Skinner aperture sight.

The twins. Yeah, I know, flag on the ground... I am laying out a design for a wall mounted display rack.

https://photos.smugmug.com/photos/i-PXd7Pgp/0/0e821f62/S/i-PXd7Pgp-S.jpg

However, while doing the layout, there may be enough room for another rifle. Maybe another .22? Or .45-70?
The madness never stops.

And I blame Dad.
