Apply at link. When you go to the page, you will select the "Apply online" button and be taken to a form. On the form, you will drop down and select the option "Police Department Accountability Advisory Committee". Make sure to fill out the application in full, including resume/CV. I would advise keeping your statement of intent neutral if you want a chance at selection.

N.B. - According to Mr. Montgomery, the ordinance has not been passed yet which will regulate the committee - that occurs on Monday. There is a chance it will allow persons who aren't within city limits to sit on the committee, though probably unlikely. (currently, all other committees required city residence).

If you qualify and want to make sure the committee isn't filled with a lynch mob of AOC wannabe's, consider applying.

Since they are probably going to gerrymander the thing in all likelihood to skew ethnic makeup, pass along to anyone you know who is sensible and happens to be a minority.

Yep. So if you know a female Colion Noir, send her a link.

You can claim whatever you want when you select those boxes so you just make it look like whatever you want. If they question you on it, then you have a case for discrimination :)

Well good luck trying to land a position that keeps people honest, by lying from the start.

If the goal to sit on the committee is to maintain the integrity of the process and make sure good cops aren't lynch mobbed or truly ridiculous standards aren't advised, or whatever this committee will be doing specifically, then it seems like a step in the wrong direction to begin that process with an integrity violation.

Look, this committee is happening. It's probably best it has the least amount of folks who basically amount to the same level of ignorance as "the shoulder thingy that goes up".

Here's a video on it and the reasoning behind it:

I would not lie on the ethnicity question. Native American or so as to not confuse, White Native American.

I would actually consider applying if (a) I didn't have to be at work @ Schriever for 40 hours/wk and (b) I didn't have to travel so much for my paying job.

I see this as an opportunity to ensure the right decisions are made for both the community at large as well as for the CSPD members. Unfortunately, I think the vast number of the positions will be filled with individuals who have an agenda that is not in the best interest of at least one of those two groups.

If your biological sex can’t be held against you for how you identify, why should your biological skin color be allowed to?? Serious question.

Was trying to be funny...wasn't a serious recommendation. I do hope that the committee does due diligence in finding solutions in an impartial way. Sadly I think many will apply with their minds already made up before the work even begins.

I think Elizabeth Warren has that locked up.

They're a dime a dozen in Oklahoma. Blond haired blue eyed "Cherokees". Lol.

Maybe, but I am not an American Indian, just a White Native American.
