These three yoots were busy performing three daytime carjackings on Friday. One occurred in the Fairmont Cemetary neighborhood. Two took place just west of Bible Park about a mile from my crib. In the last carjecking a 92 year old man was shot and is in critical condition.

Here is a report from Channel 7. Interestingly enough, the reporter thinks that the area west of Bible Park is in the Park Hill neighborhood.

You should assume you will be crucified every bit as much as a police officer. If the public thinks any given use of force by a police officer is outrageous, reprehensible, and worthy of being charged with murder (or better yet, immediately lynched by a mob), you better believe they think the same of an armed citizen using the same force. Why would you be given any more ability/leeway to defend yourself or apprehend a violent criminal/s than the police? You should call the police for that.

New York City's shootings so far for June haven't been this bad since '96. A high school friend joined the NYPD in the early '90s when Dinkins was still mayor, it was bad. Cops weren't allowed to carry any kind of knife, leatherman included. No leather jackets, no more than 10 rounds per magazine, a whole list of don'ts. Then Giuliani got elected, and he tapped Bratton who instituted Broken Windows theory and embraced that comp-stat stuff that cops love. Giuliani also let them carry as many bullets as they want, any kind of knife, they got their leather jackets back and you know the rest of the disney land transformation story that NYC went through.
