All, I?m looking at having YHM convert my older Phantom to the newer style with interchangeable back caps. Big question is: can I personally ship it back to the manufacturer through USPS (or FedEx, UPS) and then receive it back to my address? Or, do I have to go through FFL for either/both shipping directions?

When I had to send one back to manufacturer for warranty, per manufacturer direction, I sent it registered/insured and included a copy of the tax stamp paperwork. Sent directly to them and they sent it directly back (wherein the deliverer dropped it at a house several doors down and the occupant hand delivered it to my door -- talk about heart stopping to see "delivered" and nothing on the porch).

ask them if they'll issue a will call tag. If so print it out and take to what ever shipper they used. Don't forget to add lots of INS.

So, I'll just send it back to them then and will assume they will send it directly to me when conversion is done (insured for sure!). Thanks all!
