While Airplane! is filled with gags that are funny in every age, some jokes play very differently in 2020 versus 1980. Zucker, though, stands by it four decades later. ?It?s evenly laughing at Black people and white people. Everything is so sensitive nowadays, but when we show the movie, it still gets a laugh. People get it. It cuts through all the sensitivity, because in humor, you can?t be that sensitive.?

ETA: After watching the video, I now understand why I have no memory of the show ... it was never aired, even though they shot 4 seasons of it just to fulfill a contract clause in Brooks' original contract he put there to prevent them from doing a sequel to the movie ... hilarious.

That said, I kinda want to see it now. The pilot is the only thing ever aired and it is apparently lame, but since they were doing this knowing it wouldn't air, I gotta wonder if they actually made it good.

If you are looking for TV comedy that would not pass the SJW censorship board today, look no further than Sanford & Son, The Jeffersons, and of course All in the Family.

The clip with Mike Wallace interviewing Morgan Freeman seems to sum this up the best: just stop talking about it. I will stop calling you a white man and you can stop calling me a black man, and we can just call each other a man. From a libertarian perspective, racism, prejudice, and discrimination, in our nation is not a problem that can be effectively addressed by government. Like so many issues, we need look no further than our own heart. I can't fix your problems just as you can't fix mine. Repeatedly screaming at someone because they have a sliver in their eye while ignoring the plank in your own eye is a guaranteed way to never fix a problem. Treat people the way you want to be treated. Respect others regardless of how they treat you. Walk away from ignorant people whenever possible.

Laugh at most of the silliness some people seem to be immersed in. Ignore as much of the rest as possible. This to shall pass.
