View Full Version : Did anybody get any rain?
Was dark as hell at 2pm and looked like we were going to have some severe thunderstorms. Got windy...but no rain. Now it's sunny again.
Sure would be nice to get a little rain.
Not in Thornton/Westminster/Broomfield area.
Very windy and cloudy, but bright.

Waiting impatiently, doubtful will get any.
Nothing today. Got quarter size hail and brief rain on Thurs.
Nope, Centennial near Arapahoe/University. Same thing, dark clouds, some mild wind and now sunny and hot again. My lawn looks awful, looked great in May.
Same here, cloudy windy and no rain. Sunny again now.

We had a pretty good shower for about 45 minutes at my house in NE COS today. I just barely got the lawn mowed before it started - then I got a hail alert and had to put my hail cover on my car in the downpour. Never got any hail (good!).

Good rain with a touch of pea sized hail on the south end of the springs.

Cloudy and windy here but no rain.
We got some light rain this evening, but I'm sure that doesn't help you much.[Flower]

A few drops this afternoon but not enough to stop me from putting new shocks on the truck. Didn't even get wet.
I'm 30 miles north of Gilpin Guy.
Nothing here but a few sprinkles early afternoon. If there's water in the clouds it gets squeezed as it comes over the crest of the Continental Divide and drops out on the east side. We're in the lush drop zone. Nada today.

I was up in Cheyenne. Got dark enough to turn the building lights in I was at, but only rained a few drops. Lots of lightning though
very little at 1:40 to 2pm today.
We got a few drops just after 3pm. Just enough to create muddy spots on the truck.
Supposed to be cooler with possibility for rain the next couple of days. Bring it!

I'll second that!

Started to rain pretty hard at my house right around then and I was sure we were in for a good drenching. Lasted about 4 minutes.

Actually had rain make the deck wet this evening. Not soaked but something at least. And no lightning, thankfully.
50% chance of rain the next few days. We need it bad up here.
We had a fairly wet June in the Foothills (2.14") but it ended on the 28th. Since then, we had .02" on the 1st and .04" this afternoon. So definitely drying and browning up...need that monsoon. A friend is under evac now for the Evergreen fire.
Received 3/8" last evening. Nice break to the heat.
Rain on and off all afternoon yesterday here in Parker and it dumped hard around 7P for a good 10 minutes.
5/8" Wednesday afternoon , no hail here, but heard there was some large hail at Shriver AFB.

1/2 " hail and streets flooding in Pueblo West. It is a mudhole now

Yeah, we're getting monkeyhammered about 25 miles south of you. Only a little hail so far, about .250" OD.

Ya, lots of wrecked cars on base.

Yeah, mine was one of them. I have a GREAT hail protector - that I can't use out on the base. I loved this car, now it's a rolling golf ball with a severly cracked windshield - and I was one of the lucky ones. Saw at least 1/2 dozen cars with gaping holes where windows used to be.
Really bummed right now. This was the first car I've ever owned that I really loved. 3.5 years old and not even a scratch on it until today.
I left early to go do some training elsewhere and got nothing. Co worker’s car was destroyed. I lucked out.
Bummer to hear some of you guys got drilled by hail.
There have been intermittent showers in the past couple of days. Not much in the way of moisture. Plenty of wind.
Got my sprinkler heads replaced and tuned up yesterday, so I had hoped for a real soaker.

Wish we had gotten more. Only 1/8” and lots of wind. Dried it right out again.
It only rained this much in Commerce City. It never got worse.

Sorry to hear about the hail damage.
I've gotten a whole .3" at my house in the last 3 days, and that was with it raining each and every afternoon.
I guess getting the dust settled is better then nothing, by just a little.
I did not file a claim for new roofing last year, because I had 1 comprehensive claim on 2016.
Funny that next door did a roof and they leak during snowy month or heavy rain.
Our house with 15year old roof has absolutely zero issues.

What type of shingles are those Stu? They look like they'd hold up to hail, wind and other adverse elements pretty well.
It's a concrete tile. Tile does hold up to hail well, even the light weight tiles that break when you walk on them hold up to hail much better than most stuff. Tile weighs a lot and is expensive, and isn't hail proof of it gets big enough. To install tile on a roof that hasn't had tile, you have to hire an engineer to make sure your roof can support the weight. This roof had hail damage, I was surprised.

Thanks for the info Stu. I need to re-do my roof but given the info you provided, I don't think I'll be using those tiles.
Woke up this morning to an email following up the inspection for hail damage to my car"
"REPAIR COSTS EXCEEDED ALLOWABLE THRESHOLD"
Prior to the hail damage, there wasn't a scratch on this 2017 Civic. I loved that car.
