The Constitution?s guarantee of the right to keep and bear arms is unique on the world stage. Doesn't really mean much if the "right" is written in a way where the law can take it right back away.

England has a Right to keep and bear arms, too.

The English Bill of Rights of 1689 (which was a model for our own BoR) states that:


That the subjects which are Protestants may have arms for their defense suitable to their conditions and as allowed by law;

Note the qualification "as allowed by law."

That means that English Protestants have the absolute right to keep arms for their defense - unless "the law" says otherwise, of course.
