Yes, Chief, this is what's causing the problem... [facepalm]

"Youth violence is a public health emergency and we must work together in order to address this for the safety of our community," said Paul Pezen, Denver's Police Chief. "We truly do have a crisis on our hands with young people gaining access to firearms."

Whether it's Emo Johnny "Bully Bait" or Johnny "Gang Banger", if the only thing keeping them from either shooting-up the school or shooting-up the bus stop is the lock on your gun cabinet, you have FAR MORE SERIOUS fundamental issues at play. [Rant1]

The sad irony is that the more they play up guns as the problem, the more people (a) buy guns because they're afraid they may soon be outlawed or (b) buy guns because all this talk about crime has made them afraid and they are arming up to defend themselves.

Dear Chief-

You can’t even manage basic crowd control at an event supporting law enforcement.
What makes you think you have any concept of dealing with a complex issue such as “youth violence?”

Go drive into a bridge abutment you pile of shit.

They rename that area to "Westwood" and that didn't solve the problem? Perhaps a craft brewery will solve the problem.

Then the locals will complain about gentrification.Have you been down Federal between Alameda and Mississippi? Not much chance of that :) Damn good food on that stretch of road too.

My wife grew up there. Her parents owned a restaurant on Federal in the 70's.

The area is being primed for redevelopment/gentrification, lots of development money quietly accumulating property and buying politicians. A couple family members and friends have made some interesting real estate deals last couple years. Will look very different 10yrs from now.
