View Full Version : Anyone ordered bulk ammo during the pandemic from MidwayUSA? Thoughts?

I went on a casual look this last Saturday (10/03/20) for 9mm ammo through ammoseek, as I'd just acquired a Glock 19 Gen 5 recently during the pandemic, but had no ammo for it. MidwayUSA had some bulk in stock for less than 1 minute. I was one of those "1 minute" buyers....could barely get my credit card out in time. I literally knew nothing about MidwayUSA...but didn't have time to think on the decision. I'm still waiting for my tracking number to show any information, even though it says it shipped out 2 days ago. I get COVID-19 is slowing down commerce, but after ordering I read horror stories about this company and ammo purchases. Has anyone had any positive or negative experiences buying ammo from them during the pandemic? They have completely shut down all forms of communication, so I can't follow up or track my order. Just hope my tracking number updates tonight...
I've been buying from Midwayusa for years. Very reputable firm. Have always treated me well.

Also been a long time Midway USA customer. Have not tried to purchase bulk ammo during pandemic but have ordered a few boxes of 22 for testing and parts and accessories with little to no issues. They have at times been slow to ship or update tracking.

I would say that Midway has one of the better track records for vendor performance. Given the amount of volume they sell, there will ALWAYS be negative reviews from unhappy patrons who feel they were horribly victimized.

I've never had a problem buying from MidwayUSA in the last 15-20 years.
Midway is great. I've spent quite a bit with them.
Midway is basically the Cabelas of the shooting world, you aren't going to get jacked by them.
I've been trying to think of a parallel example for MidwayUSA. JCWhitney maybe?

UPDATE: Tracking number updated with shipment info *sigh of relief*. A little concerned it's showing up at my door without signature required, but it is what it is. I have remote classes from home that day, so I will be home the whole day waiting for it.
Moot point since you will be home, but there is always UPS MyChoice where you can redirect to have held at local facility or reschedule the delivery.

Shipping times at Midway are currently one of the best. They usually have things shipped within a day or two of ordering. Other places like Graffs, Midsouth, and Natchez can take a week to get your order ready for shipment.

Dont forget all the good that the Potterfields do for shooting sports in this country. Especially for youth shooting sports!

A steaming pile, but fodder for another thread.
