View Full Version : A public apology to Izzy and Aloha_Shooter
Last weekend, on the topic of the GayTFE issue of the Q Honey Badger, I made a few posts in reply to Izzy and Aloha_Shooter that were, in a word, inappropriate.
While we all may agree or disagree on any number of topics, or a range of views within a given topic, that gives me, nor anyone else, no right to be vicious or crude to anyone.
I offer my apology, and an invitation to send both the actual cost of a 6 pack of their choosing via PayPal Gift/Friends/Family or Venmo should they so choose to accept.
I also apologize to the forum and viewing public who were offended or scandalized by the things I said.
I have removed/redacted those things I have come to recognize as in appropriate, and anything which remains I either stand by or did not find to correct, and will correct remaining posts upon notification.
No mod or member brought this to my attention nor requested/encouraged/enforced this post.
I thank you all for your continued support of this great community.

I don't recall the replies but thanks for this. We all say or do things we regret later, especially when discussing controversial issues; most of us will be quiet about it afterward and hope it goes away with time. Rather than sending me a 6-pack or any money, I'd invite you to make a donation to one of the American Legion fundraisers for veterans in need, drop a fiver in the Salvation Army red kettle, donate something to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots, or something similar.
Good on you.

WOW!
This thread is a perfect example of why I love this site and its members so much.
Somehow I missed the offending post(s) but it looks like, through this thread, things are getting worked out.
As a site Admin, I see things from time to time that I feel compelled to act on. Sometimes I fail to recognize that a member didn't necessarily mean to come off the way I took things or maybe they did, but.. While I try to be level-headed in my responses, I sometimes react inappropriately. It's those times that I've had to publicly swallow my pride and eat crow. I know first-hand how hard it is to make a post like this because I've had to do it a few times myself. I commend you for having enough respect for your fellow members to do this - it is a true reflection of your character. Thank you!
ETA: Excellent response Aloha_Shooter. Just another reason I love this site.
Well that is pretty awesome! Thank you.
I was pretty mad at that three at the time but honestly hadn't thought about it since. I really don't need the need the beer.
Sure wish there was a 'LIKE' button. I don't really need to add anything since it's already perfect.
I just want to get in on the 'group hug'. [Coffee]

I try not to judge people over their mistakes, we all make some, but on the way they handle them. You deserve a solid 9 out of 10. If you want a 10, add me to the beer run.

In my case I'd like to see a "Been There, Done That" button. I'm embarrassed to admit it but more than once I've let my emotions get the best of me and found myself making a public apology. Even worse there are times when I probably should've and didn't.
Cheers, CS1983. As usual, you handled it like a pro and your post serves as a good reminder to me to keep things in perspective.
We've all done things that, in retrospect, were not the best course of action.
I've made more than a few apologies along the way.
That being said..... DIBS on the unclaimed beer!!!!!! [Coffee]

I also missed the offending post, but I will tip my hat to CS1983 for having the maturity to realize the mistake, and the intestinal fortitude to publicly apologize and say "Mea culpa." We really do have a higher grade of people on this forum, which is one of the things I love about it.
Any thornton and surrounding member wanna call me out inappropriate and meet up at a beer brewery or a local starbucks?

Joking aside,I had one of the member PM me and wrote me a long apology about 10 years ago. I had no idea what it was. Maybe I did not read that post or it was not as offensive.
Sadly i did not have a chance to meet the member and he moved to Georgia.
If this (or some other firearm) forum is rough, wait till you get to some car forums i go to. :)
Well, AS and Izzy have declined the beer, so I'll say this:
If the mods want, they have a week to find the two most outstanding posts within the week, starting today. This could be member led by the report feature so the mods aren't tasked with extra reading of our drivel.
Those two winners will get $15 each (does good beer cost more than that for a 6 pack? I wouldn't know, I'm a PBR guy).
sound good?
Wow, I'm not sure what the issue was however the fact you have taken it upon yourself to apologize for your comments says a lot about your character.
There are often things posted on this forum that I disagree with and some of it is ofensive. For you to take the initiative to realize that your words or deeds might be hurtful to others and to take measures to rectify the situation is amazing. It's what this entire country needs in massive doses right now.
We can disagree on issues actually that's welcomed, gives us a chance to contemplate another viewpoint. As Ice Man says to Maverik in Top Gun, in the end aren't we all on the same side.
Good for you CS!
