What is the deal? When I log in from my house, I get an 'IP blocked" message with a send a message to a mod. I have sent many messages, no response. My login isn't blocked, so I can access the site when I am travelling. I get that modding is time consuming and very low salary ( [LOL]), so I understand why those misbehaving get blocked and ignored. But if/when a mistake occurs, how do the wrongly blocked get restored?
There is currently a bug where only theGinsue gets the "contact us" emails. I believe he is out of town or something at the moment. Now that you have posted here, I'm sure they'll get you taken care of.

Have you offered a flipper rub?
That will get you unblocked and more ;)

^^^^This^^^^ The OP has over 900 posts and still hasn’t done the necessary flipper rub for Marlin, it’s a wonder he hasn’t been banned yet.

While flipper rubs are a Marlin favorite you'll get more mileage with Ginsue.[emoji41]
Working on issue.

Yea, not sure what causing that.
Yea flipper rubs are no longer relevant. The Ginsue like's taint ticklers I think, ask 00tec for sure though he seems to be be in the loop.
If you think you've gone afoul of The Ginsue, peanut butter is the answer.

Okay, to address the OP:
Are you using a VPN at home? We've had to block many VPN's over time because malicious actors have used them repeatedly. I strongly discourage members from using VPN's to access the site because of this.
If a VPN isn't in the picture, I'll need additional info to troubleshoot. Do you know the specific IP address that is being blocked?
I'm also thinking this may not be an IP block but an issue with your browser (yep, seen the "IP blocked" messages from members with browser related problems too). Done any updates lately?
Send me a PM with the info above, and your home system OS, and browser info.
I corrected my auto correct.

Back on the road again, so I have access again and can read stuff here. Ya know, if I get home and I cant get it to work, it is going to be hard to pm ya. Just sayin.
I will check your suggestions and see if anything helps. I don't get back to Colorado until the 12th, so don't hold yer breath on my account. :)

I thought you were able to access the site via your phone or some other means besides your home IP; that's why I suggested the PM.
Do you have a static IP address, or dynamic? If you just use what your service provider (ISP) provides, and haven't made arrangements to have a static IP, then it's dynamic. There are ways to release/refresh your connection, which forces your ISP to re-issue a new IP address, but this doesn't solve the problem forever - you may get issued the same IP again at some point and be back in the same boat. I'd like to try to get this fixed permanently when we can.
I'll be traveling for work from the 9th to the 23rd (maybe the 20th). My time will be limited to be able to check the site while traveling so we may have to wait until after that to get this resolved. But, when you have the chance, hit me up with as much info as possible so I can have it to troubleshoot when my opportunities open.
Be careful and safe on your trip - come back to us in one piece.

Finally getting back to this. I remember it when at home and cannot access the site, then forget later when I can get on the site. Well, everything works fine from the office. I thought maybe my employer's system might be blocking the site, even though I wasn't getting a blocked notice. It may be the site blocking my employer or something. Pretty sure the company laptop routes through the company server even when I am away from the office. I will have to check the IP thing tonight when I get back home.

I sent a reply to your PM last week and haven't heard anything since.
Everything okay? Did my PM make sense?
Looking to get this resolved for you.

Member provided his actual IP address he's using to access the internet from home.
Found the issue. Resolved the issue.
I'll close this thread when he logs in from home and confirms he's good to go.
So no fake IP that says I?m logging in from Baghdad?
