View Full Version : Sean Connery Passed Away - Age 90
Sad days. He lived one heck of an amazing life. Man was a true legend. Many years ago I accidentally got to play golf with him and his publicist here in Colorado. On the first tee when I walked up I saw him and I laughed inside and said to myself, "Man, that guy could be Sean Connery's twin". Only took me to about the third hole when I heard him talking and went, "Wait...what?" Really serious, but laid back guy. Rest in Peace Mr. Connery, you will be missed.

While he'll always be remembered as James Bond.
We like him in The Wind & the Lion, as Sharif Raisuli
Same for Highlander, The Man who Would be King, Hunt for Red October and A Bridge too Far
Besides Bond, of course, another role of his I liked: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1CF7p9z-0o
...and the fact that a couple of my other favorites were in the movie, Quaid and Postlethwaite, didn't hurt, either.
O2
My favorite actor. Great in any of his roles. A definite loss to us all.

Absolutely. Sir Connery was a legend and will live forever through his roles and his iconic voice.
One ping only....
A great movie. One of many for him.
I dated a girl in high school. Her sister was in the military and my girlfriend always told us the sister spoke Russian fluently. The sister always denied it and claimed to only speak a few words. She also couldn't talk about what she did for the military. A friend, the sister, my girlfriend and I all went to the theater to watch the movie and in the middle of the movie the sister leaned over and started telling us that the Russian translations were wrong and started translating it for us herself. After the movie was over I looked at her and said "I thought you could only speak a few words of Russian". She looked at me and blushed. After that night she would deny being fluent in Russian to others but would then give me a knowing look.

Only a villain as strong as 2020 could best 007. RIP.
He certainly lived life to the fullest, and used all the runway.
Godspeed, Sir Connery.
I guess we actually could add some more suck factor to the year that is 2020.
One of my faves. Will never be outdone as the best Bond (the franchise going woke will ensure it). Thought he was fantastic in Hunt for Red October, which I think was the best film interpretation of a Clancy novel.
He hadn't been working for a while, but at least his films will carry on.
May you RIP, Sir Connery.
Scotland Forever
One of a kind. R.I.P. Sir
This man could have stood on stage and read a phone book, and I would have paid to see and hear it.
He was one of my favorite actors. I happened to enjoy League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and he was the main reason we watched Highlander 2 so often. He'll live on in the movies, and future generations will marvel at the expressions that he could emote with just a single raised brow.
He set the bar very high for Bond on 007.

This, and other things he'd done. It was a bummer to hear that he passed.
He was a Mans Man.
