I just started doing some math. As of 22:46 Yahoo's tracker shows Biden at 223 and Trump at 174.

However, Biden only has two undecided states in his favor. Arizona and Maine only get him 15 more votes. Well short of 270.

Trump still has several in his favor including Pennsylvania and Texas that get him 58 right there. Not counting Nevada (only 2% counted) I have 289 total if it things stay the way they are.

Trump is currently at 210 ECs.

He almost surely has GA (16 ECS) and NC (15 ECs) giving him 241 ECs.

It looks like Trump is going to take WI with 79% reporting and a commanding 5 point lead. That's 10 ECs putting him at 251.

Trump has a solid lead late in the game in MI (16 ECs) giving him 267.

Montana is going to give him 3 for 270.

Alaska gives him 3 more. And then PA may come in for 20 more... These would be icing on the cake.

Right now, Trump has a pretty good path to winning and possibly winning tonight. It will be razor thin, maybe exactly 270 or 273, but Trump can possibly do it tonight.

Either way, the registered voters number was from 11/2/2020. Very high voter turnout is usually in the 75% range. They sure would have had to add a ton of new voters on election day to makeup that difference don't you think? Somewhere around 680,000 new registered voters on election day.

Or, on the other hand, maybe they really did have an unheard-of, historic, high turnout.

It's definitely suspicious but needs that extra information. Not being from there, I don't know if it's an ordinary thing for every new voter to just go to the polls to register. We'd have 4 years of new kids that would be voting for starters, but that would only be expected to be about 1/12th of a bump in the voter registration rolls. The other question is how well do they trim their rolls? Something that would be telling if anyone can find the data, is how many voters in 2016 were not registered the day prior. But, I don't know how to even begin to locate that information... And I presume after voting, they are registered. If there was historic before and after counts from 2016, it may show it? Another issue is can people vote absentee without being registered?

I myself - not enough time and motivation to research all of those factors, but it is important to get the big picture to determine what, exactly, is their real turnout. Then, a simple comparison to other states would demonstrate the likelihood of fraud - or not. But oranges have to be turned into apples before that assessment can be made.

Casinos/sportsbooks in the US can't allow wagering on the election outcome, that's why all the betting is done on overseas books.

As fun as it would be for Nevada to be warning other states for riots, I think I heard that Nevada agreed to not announce anything until tomorrow, on the night of the election so this isn't a calculated thing. It was interesting that Clark County, Nevada extended their polling hours the night of the election.

I just can't see Clark County going Red. It's too dense of a metro area, between Summerlin, Henderson, and Las Vegas.

I was actually there a week ago visiting friends who live in Henderson. Saw a LOT of Trump rallies, flags, etc, especially in Boulder City, less so in Las Vegas and North Las Vegas.

What I was expecting were shenanigans like we're seeing now with dumps of over 100,000 votes being 100% for Biden, HUGE count swings at the last minute in Democrat-controlled states. Didn't think they'd be as bold as 92% of late counts being for Biden or kicking out all Republican watchers but that's what they needed in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. I fully expected shenanigans in Colorado after they finally took the Secretary of State position in 2018. I agree. Are there irregularities? Yes. There always are in a system this complex. But playing "lawyer ball" doesn't help anybody, all it does is undermine confidence in the system and guarantees that every future election will end up in court.

There's a tradition in the US of the loser conceding once it's apparent that he has lost. Nixon may very well have won the 1960 election but he realized that it wasn't worth it to put the country through the trauma of challenging it so he conceded, for the good of the nation.

I blame Al Gore. If he had conceded in 2000 when it was clear he lost, we wouldn't be here.

The most surprising thing to me about the election is that it is as close as it was. Many people were expecting a Democrat blowout and that didn't happen.

With a pandemic crisis, a faltering economy, and with absolutely every round of ammunition the media, academia, Hollywood and the other "opinion makers" out could fire at Trump (assisted by his own loud mouth and dumb tweets) the Dems barely managed to shove their guy across the goal line, and will likely not control the Senate.

Agree 100%. There are a lot of things that should've been done in advance, that were not. About the worst thing for this country right now is 1) a close race and 2) anything remotely suspicious to further erode election confidence. There's foreign powers salivating that both happened this cycle. I'm hoping it settles down and we can continue to expand conservative leads in the house and senate in 2022, and maybe get a presidential conservative candidate in 2024. There's not a whole lot of damage that Biden can do in the interim, but we can do devastating amounts of damage if we plant a flag on the hill.

Trumps single biggest accomplishment for our country is Barret, Kavanaugh, and Gorsuch. That alone is the most powerful political accomplishment of the last three decades. There's nothing he could accomplish in another four years that would exceed the impact of that; and certainly a lot of damage that could happen that would cause the pendulum to swing hard to a true socialist/pinko. Hopefully none of those jurists follow Robert's path.

As it is now, we'll be likely set to take the executive in 2024 if the GOP doesn't run a circus act for a candidate, when 2024 would have otherwise been a likely loss.

Very true... but for that to stand, I'm guessing SCOTUS would have to agree with the compact, and MULLIGAN. Without SCOTUS backing it, the results could be thrown out even if the compact reliably voted for their agreed pick. Plus look for the drive for it to fizzle out without Trump in office.

I'm also not certain what the outcome would be of a popular vote. I think it would benefit the progressives, but I can't be 100% sure. There would certainly be a lot of conservatives trapped in liberal utopias that would suddenly have a lot more motivation to turn out... it would be amusing to see them back out of it just to swing the election (Colorado's initiative has previously had subtly written sections to do just that, by the way) if a conservative did win the popular. And the right candidate certainly could - look at how close it was now with as divisive and hated as Trump is among a large portion of the country? Imagine someone who isn't hated, and a conservative actually could win the popular.

That said, I believe it should always be an electoral vote because we are a republic, and the purpose of the electoral is to maintain a representative government, and as constructed, to do state-wide elections, and declare winners of states, who then use their representative muster to try to chose a president for the union. Popular erodes the republic. But I'm not entirely sure it guarantees our loss.

To be fair, I suspect TPTB on both sides were looking at what the Dems were doing with ballot harvesting and expected this situation which is why both sides were so frantic about confirming ACB before the election. The Dems have been perfecting their scheme for ballot harvesting and stealing the elections through "legal" means for decades, not just this election. I think one of the reasons they were so shocked about 2016 is that they thought they'd already locked it in to steal that election. That's the whole reason they have pushed motor voter laws, and early voting by mail (gotta lock those votes in before people really start paying attention and inconvenient facts pop up), fought voter ID measures even as they demand IDs to buy pseudoephedrine and anything else under the sun, etc.

Yes to both, now. The world is in a constant state of change, whether people perceive it that way or not. Abraham Lincoln didn't try to ban guns anymore than AOC would support the Klan today.

The situation now is that Republicans are just as establishment as everyone else. It doesn't matter what the party was, it matters what they are now. Doubling down in hopes that things will stay as they were in the past is the same thing as Kodak not embracing digital. Change to fit the now, or get trampled by the future.
