View Full Version : Magazines in CO?
With the wins of DEMs in the State (and presumed President Elect Harris) , what is everyone doing here with respect to magazines?
Although no where in the state are 16+ magazine available, there are plenty of 11 to 15 round magazines (Liberty in Johnstown has 15 round hexmags for $12 and a bunch of them last week) available.
But to liberals 11 rounds is "high capacity". If we go back to AWB, it was 10 rounds.
So any crystal ball projections what will happen in the state (and maybe nationally but GA senate isn't settled yet) with respect to guns and 11 to 15 round magazines?
Is it really time to stock up on what may not be needed now, but regretted in the future if not purchased?
If you aren't stocked up already, you probably should be stocking up.
I've always felt ten magazines for each firearm was plenty but some may disagree with me.

Since we have no idea what will happen it makes no sense to "stock up." They could try to pass an outright ban with no grandfathering.
Really depends on what county you live in. There are plenty of "kits" available locally from 30 to 100 rds. As for future bans, it really depends on senate control, the california mag ban ruling and then the supreme court stance. Another AWB is possible, but I have a feeling it will be challenged and then left up to the supreme court to rule on it. Which they may or may not take up the case. Lots of speculation ahead, so you should definitely be stocking up.

Plenty of shops up here openly sell all sizes of magazines, no "kits."
With the coming shite-storm you can expect that any firearm of yours that is capable of loading a mag with more than ten rounds will need a tax stamp.

Ich habe nur Befehle befolgt?
No one will go door to door to take magazines.
3d printing nullifies any ban. So many files to get from thingiverse.com, myminifactory.com, ctrlpew.com ect.
Ammunition supply is the only control they can implement.

You obviously don't shop around. Shops from NoCO thru the springs with 30's/40's drums etc.

I have heard that rumor too.

If someone were to 3D print mags, they are either disposable or need higher end 3D printers.
The average person doesnt have this ability.

A $170 printer can print durable AR Mags just fine. The same printer can print glock frames and AR receivers. Plenty of good models around.
Magpul mags are disposable, and the 3d printed one are very close in strength. PLA+ at microcenter is $17-24 per kg. And AR magazine is about 120 grams. Print slow and hot for strength.
I feel like you guys are walking into a trap. What's the next question, whether or not a store bought hacksaw can get through a wood stock and a steel barrel?

Would one need a chainsaw for a punt gun?
My lawyers have advised me not to answer further questions in this thread.

Bought enough to last a lifetime prior to the law change. That said, I like the 15 rounders for weight.
Didn't everyone buy a case of AR mags from Magpul before they left Colorado?

I remember the “Boulder airlift” when they gave us residents a chance to stock up few weeks before the law took effect. At that time every vendor was back ordered on mags for ages.

Define case1 case of Magpul PMAGS = 100 magazines84129
I don't think MagPul offered the case size lot before that law went into effect.
There were limitations on what magazines were offered via their website. However;
I believe online sales to places like Colorado with first priority.

There were 2 different limited release PMAGS during that timeframe. 84143

I got some.
But, being the practical guy I am, proceeded to trade them off- one of mine for two standard ones. Doubled down on magazines I would use rather than collect.
