Here's your chance to buy a WW2 Sherman tank. Kind of a fun - and short, read. The auction is still on for a few more days.

There was a guy.....
Used to come to the machine gun shoots out at Cheyenne Wells with one or more tanks.
We mounted a 1919a4 on to one of the tanks and shot tracer rounds during the Mad Minute at dusk.
Good times!
My 1919 needs a tank to be complete now that I think about it. Hell a jeep even.

You wouldn't want to park it in my neighborhood. You come back an hour later, it would be up on blocks and the stereo would be missing.

Ummmm... yes

Who ever buys it is welcome to store it out here. Plenty of space to zoom around and maneuver.
Neat.
I wonder if the set of prisms I have for a periscope would fit?
Well darn, if the 75mm barrel is demilitarized i don't want it.
Some farmer out near Elizabeth had...I think 2...tanks out in his field. Moved them every so often. Or at least there was...haven't been that way since about 2000.

Makes 9mm vs. 45acp arguments look silly.
Fascinating too.
I'm not so sure a 6.61 pound projectile launched at 850FPS can only reach "1500 yards" independent of it's mount. That's like a 46,270 grain 45 ACP, with a lower BC (probably).
So I wonder what defines the maximum range?

Paging anyone who was valedictorian in Highschool to solve this quick.
V0=850 ft/s
m=6.61 lbs

Even this, I would say 96% accurate without air density change in velocity relative to change in distance, etc.
(Aka real classical physics)

Yeah, he moved all his military equipment about that time.
No trace of the shelter or gear there now.
Must have sold and moved.
Personally I like the looks of the Ferret Scout Car...mark 4 I think it is has the turreted gun. Years ago...early 90s a used car lot down in Englewood had one for sale in their lot. Was road legal. Just didn't have the 10k needed to buy it at the time...or a place to keep it for that matter.

I think I'd rather have a Willys Jeep with rear-mounted machine gun ... especially in the hills and valleys of Colorado ....

Sherman Tank, definitely one of my first purchases that I will make right after I win the Powerball.

I’d drive that, get it road legal and piss off the HOA!
made with a cast single-piece upper hull
Hhhhuummmm, that would be quite the lost wax molding project. [Shock]

That would sure be interesting to see.....
About 20 years ago a friend took me to a guys house out by Sedalia. This guy bought and restored tanks. Had about a half dozen in his yard.
I was to awestruck over the jeeps he built. 40 inch tires four hydrolic wheel steering, diesel motor, 2.5 ton axles. Guy had a Peterbuilt Simi truck with a flatbed so he could take two jeeps and no trailer.
Was pretty much candy land for men.
There was a tank at a business off Long Bridge Rd. out in Fort Morgan for years. Pretty sure there was a Vietnam era helicopter there as well. They were there for years and then one day they were gone. Not sure if the guy moved them elsewhere or sold them.
