Just got my new press set up - MEC single stage. Purchased a set of Redding Premium dies with a FL sizing die for .223. Cleaned the die and began sizing using Imperial sizing wax, and each case is coming out with a kiss mark on it. Disassembled the die and cleaned again, same issue. Not seeing anything inside the die that's obvious, but it's consistent to each case using different head stamp brass (LC, IWI, Win, RP). Is this a big deal, or should I reach out for warranty? Is this the cause of anything I'm doing wrong?
Thanks for the help!

Too much lube I'm guessing.
Creates a seal and the air or lube makes the dent.

Well, cleaned the die again, then tried resizing with less lube....now I have a stuck case [fail]. Perhaps this is a sign?
Redding has EXCELLENT customer service...give them a call

Ah crap. Was hoping that wouldn't happen. Shit.
I have a case removal tool somewhere....

Id agree I thinks its too much lube. I'd say try using a little bit of one shot or the Lanolin Alcohol mix (the best imho) for lube.

Oh well - I ordered a RCBS kit from Cabelas, they have 'em in stock and I'll pick it up later today - it was bound to happen at some point.
Once I get it out, should I soak it overnight in some sort of solvent? I'm thinking based on their website it must be some sort of the shipping lube that hardened in that spot that I just can't see.
That is from a ding from getting bumped on ejection.
Not a big deal at all. Press on.

Thanks for confirming. Called Redding and he said the same thing when I sent him the pictures. He was concerned about the vertical striations on the brass, but we couldn't explore further until I get the stuck case out.
Thank you all for the help!
That would scratch it all the way down. Is milbrass?

Some is, some isn't - I'm getting it on LC, IWI, RP and Win brass.

You don't need a fancy removal tool. Drill the primer out. A tap and handle set from Walmart will cost $5. You want the 1/4-20 tap. A bolt, some washers, and a socket set will pull the casing out.
Concur with everyone about it being a deflector ding.
I have a case removal tool and I'm just down the road from you. PM me.

Appreciate the offer - I picked up the stuck case kit and was able to get it removed, so we're back in business!
