Looking for input on swaging--is something like the Dillon 600 the way to go, or are the powered Prep Center machines better in the long run?

Not a huge volume reloader, but that may change (or not, depending on primers).

I prefer Dillon 600 to the "spinning/cutting" prep center.

Dillon CP2000, 1050, or 1100 would be best.

Dillon 600 mounted to a board and a spring attached to it. Makes it easier to deal with.

Dillon swager = $114.99 + s&h

LEE APP = $80 + the swager kit + the swage kit $35) = $115 = S&H.

I used the dillon 600 for a few hours, before i sold it and picked up a 1050, a few years back. Sold that before moving. No longer doing that volume the APP and swage kit has paid for itself many times over.

If i actually picked up a lg volume of 223, i'd give it to the neighbor, to run through his CP 2000

Damn, that's a pretty slick setup for those of us not in to the Big Blue machines.......

I had this question rattling around my head earlier this week. I was wondering about the Lee APP and the ability to do more than just swaging primer pockets. It looks like a great little tool. Unfortunately, Midway is sold out....

If you have a case feeder on the 550 I would look at the Swage It on Ebay. If not one of the above options will be better suited.

Midsouth shooters supply as well as a few other outlets have a limited inventory.

The swage it runs an average of $100. Why use it when there's no support inside the case, while swaging.

Where the APP and swage kit, combined, run another $30. If one has access to a 3d printer, they can print out a case feeder, minus electrical components. Or buy one from karl bibb, or buy my small 3d case feeder ;) The APP has more, all around, versatility than the swag it.

Inspired by this post that I saw last night, I have started printing a large case feeder. Thanks Kazoo.
I also recommended the APP to a friend based on this thread. So, if it all fails, we may have an angry CO-AR meet in AZ to discuss it.... haha

Well, I must say, that little Lee APP press with the Lee AAP swage kit is the best thing short of a Dillon 1050/1100/2000 for swaging primer pockets. Once adjusted, it ran like a champ. Consistent, perfect swage every time.

Of course...I also had to order the Inline Fabrication quick change plate for it.

Another vote for the Lee APP unless you decide a 1050/1100/2000 is in your future.

Join the pissed at kazoo crowd. Either way there's plenty of room to pitch a tent, or camper here. 1 week is the allotted time frame for guest.

It does take a few to set it up. Read the instructions 2x if going from rifle to pistol to swage. I believe if one wanted to. The app would make a nice dedicated brass trim die set up.

I'm not a lee fan. They have great ideas, but turn out what one can see is clearly a budget based product. As i mentioned before, IF they did their products would be in the rcbs - dillon price range. A plus is their warranty and, considering i had to use them for a part issue. Good customer service. . Then again IF an item works, i don't care whose name is on it. It works.

Everyone enjoy their APP, and case feeder;)

I've only played with an APP that a buddy has, he did all the setup.

I went the 1050 route...
