I lost my uncle Cliff a couple of month ago, he was there with the marines. If you haven?t heard of this battle it is one of the most extreme battles ever fought. Cliff didn?t talk much about it, but what I know is he was in a machine gun squad, he lost his best friend after carrying him for over a mile, he took a bullet through both his legs and was airlifted off the battle field to Japan.

11 days 11 medals of honor,

My great uncle Karl, who was in WWII also, died about a month before Chosin. He was shot up pretty good near Taegu, shipped off the hospital in Japan, but died there.

I got to hear General Raymond Davis talk about the battle back in the 80s - he and the Marines and Soldiers that fought there displayed amazing courage in the face of overwhelming odds. RIP GEN Davis - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raymond_G._Davis
