View Full Version : Link to GO gun laws?
Anyone have a link to a site or something for CO gun laws...
In essence: Can a person buy more than one handgun within a 30 day period? Also, does a person have to go through a "waiting" period (i.e. 5 days, etc)
Basically, I haven't bought a new firearm in several years. Last one was when I was a resident of Texas and I could buy as much and as many as I wanted... Recently went into a store and well... That's why I'm asking.
Thanks guys,
Bear
I believe you can.
http://www.rmgo.org/ then go to their "Gun Laws" tab at the top of the page which takes you here: http://www.rmgo.org/faq/
I read through there, and I don't think their FAQ answers your question directly.
I followed the link at the bottom of their page to this website: This is what you are looking for.
http://www.michie.com/colorado/lpext.dll?f=templates&fn=main-h.htm&cp=
Now I selected General a-z, looked around and did a search for "firearm" and came across this:

You should be able to find what you are looking for.
Please let us know what you find. I'm sure that you can buy as many as you want though.

No restrictions on the state level. Federal law requires dealers to report sales of more than one handgun in 7(not sure) days, but does not bar the completion of the sales.

No waiting period, that was part of the Clinton crime bill that expired. Just pass the instant check and pay for it. No limit on how many you can buy in any period. About 8 months ago, I bought 2 at once. See people doing it all the time.
If you want, you can pick me up one when you are there.
Sturtle's link to RMGO is a good start for looking up information on gun laws in CO. The states laws are also available completely online from multiple sources or your local library.

RMGO is a great resource as they will often times give a brief summary of what the law means, but if you can't find what you're looking for there, here is a link to firearms related statutes on CBI's website:
