I'm looking into getting a 2nd shotgun but this time I want one that I can take out to some place like Colorado Clays and maybe for Pheasant hunting.

I'm pretty much a novice when it comes to shotguns and not looking to spend too much. I have a Sagia-12 which got some great comments when I took it out to Colorado Clays.

So what would people here recommend with the only thing being I don't want a pump shotgun. Either semi-auto or double barreled?

Anything over two rounds on an upland game bird is pretty much flailing vs aiming and shooting. So, IMO the ammo the gun carries isn't a factor. If money isn't an issue, go the over/under route. If money is an issue, a good Rem 1187 (or used 1100) isn't too bad. I've had a few of both types of guns, and you could talk me out of my 1100, but you are going to be hard pressed getting my Rem 332. It just flat out shoots.

The nicest semi I've ever used for sporting clays and upland game is an odd ball gun; an H&K/FABARM Red Lion. It's very light, suprisingly light recoiling with hunting loads, and swings extremely well. It's my wife's shotgun, but damn if it isn't a great gun. Bit pricy though, it's in the Benelli price range.

A Benelli won't ever let you down. I like em.

A Benelli lightweight is great to carry. Having that third round doesent hurt either.
