Another great man and country music legend has passed. I grew up listening to Charley Pride and still enjoy his music. Complications due to COVID. Time marches on for all of us.

After such a long, long, time, it was great to see him receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the CMA last month.
As the son of sharecroppers, he is proof that it doesn't matter what your origins are, we all have the same opportunity to make something great of ourselves.
Rest well Charley.

He probably could've been a major league pitcher in addition to a country music legend if he hadn't hurt himself.
Sad news. I liked his music and he seemed to be a real gentleman.
When I was a kid in Fort Worth, he supposedly had a house down the street from my Grandmother.
another good one gone. Won't be long and there won't be any "good ol' country music" singers left.
RIP Charlie...

The only guy that could cover a Hank Sr. song and do it justice.
Another great country music legend. His son sounds a lot like him. 2020 definitely continues to be a shit show right up until the very end. Rest easy Charlie, I'm sure heaven is holding one heck of a great concert.

That's a fact. Hell...even some of the more contemporary good country music stars are getting up there. George Strait is closing in on 70. Shit...that means that I'm... I don't even wanna think about what that means. Let's just say I don't have to lie about my age to get a senior discount at IHOP any more.

I have to throw the bullshit flag on the CMA (not you, Ginsue). They could have voted him in decades ago, but didn't. He could have enjoyed it for many years, instead of weeks. I'm sure there are many other country singers of color that are deserving of the honor, but have been ignored. It was a publicity stunt to make the CMA look like they're unbiased.
