The Space Force is now known as the "Guardians".

Life keeps getting weirder....
Guardians of the Galaxy.
Some real 'deep thinkers' in government.
Given everything that's happened in 2020, it's hard to be surprised.... but they succeeded. "I am Groot!"
I don't trust anything they say. If those fuckers say it's Monday morning you better double check.

Well, if we called them 'computer operators with security clearances' it wouldn't sound like fun.

Hahahahahaha!!!!!!! [ROFL1]
Ok, I'll go with the obvious-I guess Guardians of the Galaxy would've had some problems [LOL]
They need a trash panda mascot

I thought this is a cool article. Graphics shows some troops at work. And to think this is many people working locally. Amazing!

It's a brave new world. It's going to be a highly technical gig, they're going to need a lot of mental horsepower to make that work.
A Larry the Cable Guy movie spoof is likely to follow - Space Farce.

Was in USAF Space Command... their motto was "Guardians of the High Frontier". Suspect thats why they picked this name.

Exactly why they picked that name (or at least that's the public explanation :P).
(Of course, unlike most people, my mind didn't go to "Guardians of the Galaxy" first; rather, I thought back to the old Reboot cartoon, and those Guardians :P)

I just heard today that Space Command will be in Alabama rather than Colorado Springs. Maybe Bubba-Force is the new nickname...

Huntsville ain't Forrest Gump's Alabama. Can't swing a coonhound without hitting someone with a Master's degree in hardcore STEM stuff (read: aerospace/engineering, not lame IT degrees), a lot of culture, great amount of aerospace and defense work with a smaller pool than COS (great hiring potential), pay is the same as COS in defense sector and yet somehow the real estate prices aren't insane. Also, a serious reduction in the retarded machinations of combat arms dudes' good ideas out on the town... since Redstone isn't geared towards that type of military presence.

Not to mention it doesn't have the strong blue shift that CO has been experiencing.

But what about the ladies??? :)
I always come back to: "Alabama, 1st in the alphabet, last in everything else". I must still be too much of a Yankee. Either way, I think COS is a better place for it, if for nothing more than my pride and then marketing photos.

A lot of pretty women in Huntsville, at least there were the last time I was TDY there (which admittedly was years ago).
What a waste to move. Who's bank account is benefiting from this waste, when an already operational and expandable base exists?
Fvck trump and his sleezey deal making. String him up for this, not free speech.
Why wouldn't it be in Alabama? Isn't that where all the other space stuff is?
Well yeah, all the space stuff except for the most important one, STARGATE SG1.

Lol. Dude. Redstone is huge and has a ton of infrastructure already supporting this mission and others. The mission itself is geographically dispersed. Only thing Redstone is really gaining is the Command HQ. But COS and Space are already way in bed together and from an operational perspective that ain’t changing. Simmer down.
