Looking for a local store, preferably south Denver to Co Springs to consign some higher end rifles.

80’s HK 93, 80?’s Galil 386 with original box. Both have spare parts kits, scope mounts, etc. this is all original. I know CO law sucks but I also have ~25 OEM mags for each so I want to work with someone who really understands the law.

I have a few others I may part with including some NFA so that would be a plus.

I've used Springs Armory in the Springs with good luck.
They charge a flat rate of $45, $55 if you hang a rifle on the wall.
Good for 3 months and I think $20 to renew after that.

Why not just sell them on Gunbroker? Those rifles should bring out some serious bidders, set them up as penny auctions with no reserve with a two week time span and sit back and watch a couple idiots try to outbid each other.

you can sell the magazines out of state, selling them consignment in a local shop would not be possible from a legal standpoint unless someone came in from out of state and had them shipped to them.

Damage Factory near Arapahoe Rd and I25 handles consignments but I don't remember what the details are.

why not list them here? depending on prices i have an interest. There are no mag restrictions (for now) in AZ.

Prices on gunbroker are insane right now, makes armslist look reasonable on many auctions I've seen recently.

Justin at "Stop, Drop & Shop" (SDS) is a good place to move high end guns.

SDS and Springs Armory are both legit. SDS is a good connect, and Springs Armory is well regarded in the veteran crowd.

Answering a few questions in the same post.

As for the why not sell them here??? That would be my first choice. I haven?t been watching closely but the posts on only selling for what you?d sell it to your closest family for made me think otherwise. I?m not try to gouge anyone, and with somewhat rare rifles I don?t even see how that?s really possible since a good portion of the value is the collectibility. In the end it?s just not worth arguing about the price. The mags are another big part since I?m not 100% sure on what to do to make them legal to sell. The mag part also applies to GB. Can they just be dissembled and sold as spare parts along with the firing pins and springs?

As for the NFA, I have a M11 that is decked out with Lage and spare parts as well as a few suppressors that I’d be willing to part with. I know that selling suppressors will be a big loss , but if I will never use it I’d rather get it out of the safe rather than the kids trying to figure out what to do with them. Or include them in the sale of something like an HK tactical or Benelli.

They're actually pretty generous on terms...I think they'll give you 100% of the sale in store credit if you want to go that route. My problem with them was, I decided to do a test run with them and consign something relatively low value there with lots of extras (including boxes of ammo that are now worth a significant percentage of what they suggested asking), only to have it stuffed in the bottom of the shelf with no indication that half the value was in stuff not on the shelf. I asked about adding more info about the extras, and was told a flat 'no'. So now it's languishing there where no one will probably ever notice it, and I have to pay a background check fee to get it back.

Wish I'd just listed it on here instead, so as others are mentioning, start here first.

I would cross post here and there. I would try non paid site first then start posting paid site as well.

You can sell mags out of state, but not in state. Easiest way to sell those mags to another local buyer is. Drop a dowel or other item to prevent the follower from taking more than 15 rounds. $5 per plus s&h, problem solved .

Or.. sell to an out of state interested buyer.

You are going to get the most money possible by putting them on gunbroker. You will have a 50 state audience and penny auctions attract buyers like flies on ....

My experiences have been different at DF. I've consigned about 10 guns with them over the last few years and I price realistically. Most of the rifles have sold within days of being consigned with the last two being sold within hours. I do have two pistols with them currently that I realize may not be sold anytime soon due to their caliber (.40 S&W), but that's not their fault. The market is flooded with 40's right now.

I do have a buddy who has a couple of rifles on consignment there that frankly, he wants too much for. The fear market that he was hoping to take advantage of, isn't particularly interested in a $2k black rifle. So they have sat for months there.

Listing the rifles here will not be an issue. The club/family rule has pretty much been cast aside.

Mags - work it out with buyer off site or cobble something together to get by the rule.

IMO the only real "issue" with listing them here is that this board doesn't really have very many active members and therefore the potential audience is relatively small.

That's going to lower your price because smaller pool of buyers = less demand = lower price.

I've sold several guns here because for me it's worth taking less than I could get on, say, GB, just because of the simplicity of doing a F2F transfer at a local FFL being much easier than the hassle of finding and vetting the receiving FFL, packaging, shipping, etc. All that stuff takes time and effort that I'd rather expend elsewhere.

It's money or time, gonna cost you either way. [Dunno]

I say never deny the opportunity for a sale. Smaller pool here, true, but you never know who just has cash burning a hole or is really after a particular item. Diversified posting seems fine. Just more of a pain for comparing time stamps.

I'd say price fair/market. No need to lose your shirt, and anyone who would ask you to do so is acting against the same sense of community that the intent (not price gouging) has.

I'm interested in his pricing. Since i have a few $$ not really burning a hole in my pocket. More like smoldering on the back burner. But he can't sell them, if no one on the forum, has an idea what he's asking

I may have to eat crow on this one. Stopped by this weekend and it looks like it might have sold. Couldn't find it on the shelf, and after pounding on a computer for a bit they told me they think it's sold... They were a little busy with buyers and nothing in stock that I needed, so I'll check back when it's quieter.

That's been my experience recently as well. Even though they've added a bunch of staff, the place is always hopping. I do a bit of people watching there and its interesting to see the numbers of people buying whatever they can.

That's not limited to CO. Like elvis, it's everywhere.

Until a couple of months ago, I would have suggested Green Mountain. However, their policy has changed and they now dictate the price of consignment guns. I came in with a bag of handguns and left with them along with a new found appreciation for Gun Broker. I think it's the primary reason their display cases are so bare.

He hasn't been on the forum since 21 Dec. I sent him a text letting him know you are interested.
