View Full Version : Explosions around Arvada?
I'm in Arvada and we just heard three, now four, explosions. Anyone know what's going on?
I?m guessing fireworks.
Heard some up in Thornton too.
The only time I've heard an explosion like this was at Mines E-Days fireworks shows, when you are 100 yards away. This was miles away and the report was several seconds after the flash. It was West from Arvada. We tossed songs the idea of a Christmas fireworks show, but this sounded more like an avalanche cannon or something. No one heard anything?

Any AT&T buildings or power sub stations around there?
Richard
By the way, I heard at least 10 boats before I was in my vehicle heading home. I called relatives around town and no one has heard anything. I'm gong to feel dumb if this was nothing; but I'd much rather feel dumb than it be something real, and bad.

Where abouts exactly?
I was up on a hill near Fitzmorris Park, which is near 66th and Independance. I'm not seeing anything in the news, and friends working in the PD on shift right now haven't heard anything. It was some of the largest explosions I've ever heard, but you could tell it was far away. I don't know, I guess it was nothing. I feel like Chicken Little at the moment. I wasn't the only one who heard them, but it appears to be nothing. If those were simple fireworks, I'm impressed and people any closer couldn't have been very happy. Sorry for the false news I guess.

10 boats?
btw if you clicked on the report icon, the other thread would have been deleted ;)

Thanks for the tip. I clicked on the report icon hours ago. It's Christmas, people have better things to do. I hope they delete both threads. No need to have false alarms.

Ha! Probably just some kids having fun. I grew up on 64th and Independence and went to Fitzmorris Elementary adjacent to the park. We regularly blew off M-80s, Cherry Bombs and Black Cats in our yards and the street. Later, black powder land mines and rockets. Thinking back I'm amazed by the tolerance of our good neighbors.
And right there in our suburban neighborhood we shot our .22 rifles our backyards and in our basements. Nobody got hurt, nobody complained, and nobody went to jail. It was all part of growing up in the 1960's.
As of this I, nothing nefarious reported on local news.
Sticking to my fireworks theory.

Wasn't me. I didn't do it. Nobody saw me do it. You can't prove anything.

no, 10 boats
10 boats, or 12 monkeys ?
Glad it was nothing nefarious I guess.
Is there any kind of communication center there affiliated with news networks? Apparently they don't like to report when their own shit gets targeted and goes down [grab]
(obviously not serious, but laced with a grain of truth)
