Cut and paste from another forum...

(In a boxing announcer voice) ...

Alright people, LaRue has had enough requests from folks that will willingly break the levers off their A.R.M.S. mounts if LaRue will replace it with a LaRue product.

So, a challenge is made.

We challenge A.R.M.S. (the company busy suing us over their #17 trademark) to a mount duel.

We are hereby offering to replace any A.R.M.S. mount that the owner intentionally breaks the M.I.M. lever off.

The challenge to A.R.M.S. is that they make the same offer to any LaRue owner who intentionally will break the lever off a LaRue mount in exchange for an A.R.M.S. products.

The winner will be decided at the ShotShow The Booth with the most broken mounts from the other wins. May the best man win

The offer is now out there and remains in effect until A.R.M.S. drops his suit, and if that doesn't happen, then it remains in effect until I have had my satisfaction.

Take a pic and print it of the before intentionally breaking and after its broken, include it with the mount.

We have another offer going on and this will keep them apart. Include a short note of why you wanna play.

Since time is of the essence (Shotshow is looming), we will rush you the LaRue mount that's a suitable upgrade to the A.R.M.S mount you intentionally broke in trade.

THIS IS THE STATE FAIR TRACTOR PULL OF MOUNTS ! ! !

GO !!!!

M. LaRue

I am Mark LaRue and I authorize this offer. ML

ETA We're gonna make this a good old fashioned Texas horse race, so do me and my whole bunch over here a big Christmas favor and spread the word for us in other forums you might frequent.

Thanks and Merry Christmas to all yall.

Somebody (not me) showing how he broke the MIM arm....

So, im doing my predeployment shopping (Leaving the week after next. Part of Obamas troop increase into indian country.), and most things are going good.... all except for that pesky ARMS #17 mount on my M900...

Lo and behold, i wake up this morning to find Mark offering up this dealie... So, i decided to wage my own little war between LT and ARMS...

http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/9750/79899384.jpg

Now, as you can see, i decided i wasnt simply going to just break the ARMS mount... i was going to let my trusty dillo kick its ass. I thought it a bit poetic to be pitting a dillo and a #17 mount against each other.

http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/9472/14143405.jpg

Now, granted, i had to take it out of the bathroom, stand on the mount to hold it in place, and give the little guy a couple hard thwacks on the face to help him out... But the proof is in the pudding... ARMS aint got shit on dasypus novemcinctus:

Shame ARMS doesnt make a VFG... i wouldn't mind breaking one of those and getting something of REAL quality either.

Lame.

If it gets you a much better (personal opinion there) product for free I am all for it. Fortunately I have no ARMS products that need destroyed and bought Larue to begin with.

I view it as a great marketing ploy for a niche market.

Lame.

actually it just shows how far a guy will go to prove his products are superior and there isn't an infringement...it all comes off a lawsuit, more than likely a bullshit one because ole' Dick can't stand that Larue is doing so well and people drool over his products.

There is nothing Lame about it...

Can someone post more info on the legal issues between the two companies?

ARMS is suing LaRue for having a mount numbered LT-170, because it infringes on ARMS' copyright of #17.

Also, yesterday LaRue's first .308 rifle (the OSR) was delivered to its owner. That same day, ARMS copyrighted and released it's "Optical Swan Rail" or OSR...so now Mark LaRue feels it's personal.

I just don't like Larue, but I don't know why and can't explain. You guys can just ignore me.

Would you mind explaining why you dont like their stuff? Just wondering.

Are you allergic to Dillo Dust?

Hm. I don't have any A.R.M.S. products either.

As a side note: Joey, you might want to repost that first pic...this time without the pubes in the picture. I'm just saying...

Some people in the past have said Mark LaRue is an ass. Well, some Dicks like to fuck asses. But they just get covered in shit when its all over.

Alright, so I was going to post a before photo showing the A.R.M.S. mount before it was destroyed, but apparently the flash of my camera frightened and destroyed it before I had a chance to take a swing!!

http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b100/89Sunbird/52f7646b.jpg

So here is a photo from farther away. I used a seperate bulb so as not to startle the delicate mount. It was like fighting two super magnets to get this A.R.M.S. mount onto the weapon with the overwhelming presence of superior gear...

Sent my ARMS mount in before the shot show and got the replacement back yesterday. Oh ya, Way better construction on the LaRue 150 he sent me. Even sent me a dillo and a hat. The hat got worn today while I was running around campus and the light rails to and from campus.

I won't be purchasing ARMS again if at all possible. The difference is huge.

I have an ARMS Swan Sleeve on my SPR, simply because it was on the gun when I got it. It happens to be the one that fits the PRI free float tube. It's also the first and last ARMS item I will own. I've seen LaRue products and I like their quality. I also like that Mark LaRue is a stand-up guy.

The first time I heard of Larue was from people complaining about them for things like that.

Mark certainly is an attention whore, and wont think twice about publicly airing his grievances with other companies on an open forum...

I kinda like him for that.

If this thing is still going on I have an A.R.M.S mount for my bipod that needs to be magically transformed into a Larue piece.

I like Larue, I like their products, I like there customer service people, and I like that the owner isn't afraid to do stuff like this.

I am off to order an EOTech mount directly from Larue, just to reward them for good behaviour.

Nope. The deal to swap ARMS for LaRue ended when the SHOT Show began. I only had a couple of ARMS things left that I swapped out.

We even have a member here that was bit by the Dick Swan "I an going to sue you" crap.
