View Full Version : Smith & Wesson 422 or 622 information
Thinking of getting one as a suppressor host.
Have a model 41 so we already have magazines.
Anyone have issues with the pistol?
I have Marvel, Buckmark and High Standard and each suppressor option would need machine work and sights or optics.
Just get a threaded barrel for the 41..... https://clarkcustomguns.com/product/clark-sw-41-match-barrel/

the buckmark can run a tacsol bbl.

regarding the HS. Those are too nice and collectable to thread the bbl.
I ended up winning a 4" target 422 on Gunbroker. After I ordered a Tacsol barrel and rib for the Buckmark.
EWK makes the 422 adapter.
Model 41 barrel would need higher sights or a optic. Weight is a issue with ours. Have a Clark steel barrel already.
I have a 6" 622 and loved it. Was stolen and later recovered by the police in a pursuit, so it's a bit scuffed up. I can't get it to run properly. Replaced all of the springs, the firing pin, etc. With the receiver above the grip, a 6" bbl seemed closer to a 4". Low bore so it would be a great candidate for suppressor.
Takedown is a bit 'unique', but once you've owned one you learn how to do it quite easily and effectively. Including using the head of a spent shell against the spring guide rod for takedown. Was absolutely reliable and very accurate before it left my possession.
Gman. Barrel assemblies are available on Ebay. Or your frame got bent in the ruckus.
Frame is straight. I'd likely have to take it to a smith to get it reliable again and due to the cosmetic damage it has sustained, it's just not worth it to me. Since I have mags, I may look for a replacement at some point, depending on the cost.
