Well my older son is in premob training for his next deployment. After 17 years we were all hoping he might get through the last 3 of his contract without another. However he is the ncoic of his aviation unit and a flight medic so we all knew it was a possibility. It's kind of funny for me looking at him as "the boss" but from what I hear he takes really good care of his soldiers/medics.

Not sure if they'll do some kind of virtual departure ceremony or what. He thought perhaps the helos would do a fly-by for the families though he'd love to see his soldiers get a little more family time than doing the virtual thing. To be determined. He has a new commanding officer and is getting along so far. They recently had a good sit down according to him so fingers crossed it stays that way.

The hard part will be on his wife who will be at home with a 1,3 and 7 yr old. Since I'm still working I can only help on weekends. Her mother is rather elderly and really can't help much.

As an aside he did score expert with the new Sig M17. He really likes it though like his old man he'll always be a 1911 guy at heart LOL.

As always please keep our service members in your thoughts, thanks.

Might I inquire as to where his deployment will be? Or is it top secret. Mostly curious.

Will definitely pray for his safety and speedy return.

I will also pray and keep him in my heart and prayers...and I also pray that his wife finds assistance for that much child-energy. Whew!

Once he gets deployed and finds the things he needs and may have forgotten or not had room to bring along, let us know and we can get CARE package items to you to send on to him.

Thoughts and prayers to you, your son and your family.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and support. As I told one member it seems that unless one is in a military family or has friends most people have forgotten we have folks deployed in lots of places. You all are the best. Wish we had a "like" button!
