Today was the departure ceremony for my son's Dustoff. This is the only I'm comfortable posting. The pos governor gave some kind of speech, for the life of me I couldn't tell you what he said-as compassionate and caring as drying paint-what a jerk. He looked and sounded as if he'd rather be anywhere but where he was. Regardless, first in-person ceremony all year. It was good for the soldiers and the families. You can see they did a good job spreading everyone out. God Speed Dustoff.

Godspeed and Safe travels for your son!

Several other .mil families have really missed the in person stuff, but as one of the guys would say, "we muddle through".

I hope your son knows that whatever he hears from rumor control, he's got a lot of support back here.

Thanks, he’s been in for over 17 years, multiple deployments, now an E7 & the NCOIC so he’s able to stay focused on his soldiers and the mission. This one will be the toughest for his wife and 3 little children.

Never an easy time. Are they headed overseas where it's safer? [Sarcasm2]
