View Full Version : Rare Breed Forced Reset Trigger
Has anyone got their hands on a rare breed trigger? Any reviews how well they function
Does anyone know what the waitlist time is like?
It seems like an interesting trigger and fun.
But I had a couple of thoughts.
1. I wouldn't spend gunbroker prices on one. Even the $380 is maybe high. I look at the trigger as a "disposable item." Although what they they claim says it is within the law of a semi-auto, it is an opinion away from the ATF "determining" it is a machine gun and telling people to turn them in. So the money spent, in my mind, is just throw away money for when the ATF says no more.
2. Colorado might try and ban binary / forced reset / any trigger that make semi-auto "fire faster." This goes with item 1.. throw away money.
3. The Rare Breed doesnt seem to have a non-forced reset position. Could result in a lot of double taps.
4. Inside a range (even outdoor) people would probably be left alone, but imagine trying to explain to average cop if you are out shooting in the woods and people call police about a machine gun.. why it is not a machine gun.. It is like the "2A audits" where people film carrying an AR15 pistol and police dont really know the difference between AR15 pistol with a brace and a rifle. Some ranges may not allow this "rapid fire" semi-auto.
But I am glad people are coming up with creative solutions...
I saw one for sale on gunbroker the other day. The bid was over $800 with several days left on the auction. I assume the wait is quite lengthy.

There may, or may not be a few of them at the local range. They work well, but a quick learning curve gets you up and running. Interesting unit and fairly well thought out. IIRC one of the shooters said it's a 3-5 month back order, atm
With that said. IMO EVERYTHING is an opinion away, by the ATf , from being banned. Or made illegal. without "paying" that $200 fee.
Which, let's be honest here.
That's all any fed agency cares about, is their revenue

I have no idea how accurate this video is as I hadn't even heard of this before this post. But oddly right after I finished reading this post I saw this in my recommended videos on youtube. Hope it helps.

Damn. 3 to 5 months
When did they order? I thought they were released around mid- december?
I wouldn't $200 per item is enough to really get them excited about revenue. That is only about 3 hours of one persons fully burdened salary. I would bet that at $200 ATF actually loses money (I shouldnt say that too loud)

Really? They hiring.
Anyway. 5 people ordered them the day they say what ever on a web site. Took 2 weeks from placing order, to delivery.
Another of their friends ordered it the week those guys were out shooting. His took 1 week to delivery.
it's interesting to shoot. But what i find humorous is. Those guys and gal get more excited shooting my suppressed AK and lever guns.

Why do they get more excited about them? Just something different?
The problem with full-auto or very fast magazine dumps of semi auto.... ammo cost and ammo availability.
Even just doing 22LR mag dumps, it is hard to find replacement ammo...and reloading.. yes its cheaper.... but bullets/powder/primers are gone....
But the RB trigger looks like fun for some use or another...not sure what that is, but often usefulness and fun can be mutually exclusive....

I am talking about fully burdened salary. Salary. Taxes. Insurance. Unemployment. Then add in the office space they use, heat, computer. Toilet paper. Etc.
Rule of thumb, fully burdened cost is 2 to 2.5X the persons "salary"
So a $20/hr employee cost the employer $40 to $50 per hour in total cost.
I know for every position at where I work what the direct cost (salary + direct benefits to employee) and fully burdened are. For lower paid positions the benefits are a higher percentage of salary than for higher paid positions. As an example a $20/hr employee health insurance costs the same as a $50/hr employee. So as a percentage the lower paid employee is more than double.

I know there's ammo shortage issues. but for some reason these guys showed up with a 5 gal bucket of ammo.
I "think" they have too much money and a bit short, on long range planning. But hey it's their guns n ammo, who cares.

Im only going to warn everyone DO NOT buy one of these triggers. I guarantee you ATF is going to drop the hammer on them just like they did the achkison accelerator back in the day. When I was a mod a member of this site asked me and I told them not to do it. ATF loves to change their mind on a whim and they don't tell anyone they just raid. The member bought one $1200 and with in months ATF changed their mind raided the company and told everyone that bought one to turn it in. The member lost out on $1200. I am giving everyone a fair warning that is exactly what is going to happen with these triggers. The trigger is reset by the gun not you manually they are going to drop the hammer on them.

Nothing personal. However If one were to follow that line of thinking. No one should buy a semi-auto cause. well you know. gun bans, registration and most of all buy backs.
The .gov wants to disarm the American citizen. If one were to cower over a trigger, can't imagine how fast they'd sell their AR's & AK's
Then again i know at least 1 forum member ready to turn his in, if and, when laws are passed.

you are welcome to think as you wish Im just telling it like it is. They will ban them if federal prison suites you that is your choice it has nothing to do with me cowering down or turning in my guns. When they raid a company like this they seize everything including all sales records. Here is the reality they will know who bought them they however have no clue about the guns I own. Hence why I dont buy stupid shit like that or solvent traps. you want to put yourself on the radar knock yourself out. I wont have to turn anything in because they dont even know I have it. People that think like you on the other hand wont have a choice when your door gets kicked in and they raid your house and you sit in federal prison.

i'll keep that in mind. But who really cares what one owns. Whether you like it or not. It's still a personal choice.
As for guns anyone owns. If you really believe this administration cares what is currently legal, to own.
I suggest you rethink it. They want all of them. So saying you're not on anyone's radar, is only kidding yourself.

I could care less what anybody owns im just trying to help people like the last time who wasted $1200 only to have to turn it in and lose out on his money. I personally could care less if you want to waste your money and again it has nothing to do with what i like. You clearly dont get it.

Seriously although I hadn't had it happen just from reading a forum post before. To be fair this is exactly the kind of thing I am normally surfing youtube for so it could be coincidence.
Anyways if you do end up with one let us know how it works out.

Ironically, the sale records are a reason to overpay on gunbroker and pre-paid debit cards. It is harder (not impossible) to track, Makes it much harder to get in an initial round of visits if ATF does them.
That said, I havent heard rumors of bumpstock visits.
But, I also agree, the ATF will likely come down on them. That is why in #1 I said it was throw away money.

FFS!
I just tried one.
I tried to buy it from the owner, cash in hand, right then and there...[Flower]

He didn't sell? Should have told him he could use the money to replace his door frame in the near future. Haha.

They basically added a DIAS to a drop in trigger...
Watching video's of people shooting these, they never release their hold on the trigger, they just hold it back. The mechanism does the rest.

Bingo you are 100% correct they simply put the sear in the trigger and shit is going to hit the fan with atf. I am not saying I agree with any of the bullshit gun laws including the NFA but its the law and I already know what is coming down the pipe. It's no different than a john norell trigger pack for a ruger 10/22 or a H&K trigger pack for the H&K firearms. LOL its almost so comical there is not even words.

Your trigger resets itself and must be pulled to fire, any round. Unlike the binary that activates the trigger in both rear and forward motions.
The question is. Why would the atf approve any of these triggers if they were continual burst.
Which they're not, as they require you to activate the trigger for each round fired.

I understand that by the letter of the law, these are legal. Although I'm pretty sure these exist in a grey area, more so than binary triggers or bump stocks.
But the ATF hasn't followed the letter of the law in a long time.
By the "spirit" of the law, especially as the commie dickheads in the ATF seem to feel it, these are far and away more illegal than bump stocks, which they happily banned once they had the political cover to do so from trump. They already have the political cover to do as they feel under Joe and the Hoe.
Now, I think anyone that wants one should go buy one, just don't be surprised when the ATF decides these are verboten.

I personally dont care what anybody does with their money I just choose to spend mine in a wise manner. I love the people that call reasonable people fudds i bet us fudds will be the first ones to fight while all the wanna be commandos run for cover.

Actually, there have been very few FUDD or non-FUDD gun owners that actually fight.
Help me out, which FUDDs have fought. About the only ones I can think of were the Bundy Standoff.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLrm1e8ffKnV8gnACtGjy6AI see this quite often. Unfortunate.
Defiantly follow the advice of an H3 buffer (at least with a 16'/carbine gas tube).
It seems the trigger is sensitive to bolt velocity. They turn into a nice single shot if bolt velocity is too high.
But once tuned, they work like advertised.
Had the chance to shoot one at a range. Very limited application imo vs a binary or just knowing how to hold a carbine to bump fire "naturally".
It was fun to shoot, but it also wasn't my ammo. [ROFL1]
there was a post on reddit with a pic of a letter from the AFT stating that the triggers are classified as a MG now. Heard they got a C&D late June but they were still selling them as of last week. Hmmmm
