Hi all,

I saw there was an Appleseed event like 10 minutes away from me, but I saw it was full. Also remembered there is a range down there off Wadsworth, I should look into joining there...

Does anyone know how often Appleseed events happen in the Denver area? I've never been to one and I've heard they are pretty good.

Thanks!

They usually have a couple per year at the Boulder Rifle Club.

Just follow the Appleseed website and watch for events though I don't think that all of them get posted there.

Thanks. Hoping to find another one that's closer to Littleton, but I'll keep an eye out. If it only has 10 spots I imagine they fill up right away.

yeah, thats the one he already mentioned, and is full.

I never knew there was a range down there.

Appears that outside of things like appleseed, the range is only for current/former Lockheed / ULA employees....

Yeah I was really hoping to get into that one.

And that range restriction isn't a problem for me.

Are there events/classes similar to Appleseed events anyone can recommend? I'm not terrible with a rifle but I've never taken any formal training, only shooting at the range with some of mine.

If things go well there may be up to 3 more Appleseeds at the Skyline Hunting club this year. Last year there were several, but things go bounced around with covid. They will get posted on the Appleseed site, when the event is fully approved by the host clubs and the Colorado coordinators. There should be several in Boulder and Colorado Springs as well. I will try to update this thread as they get posted on the Appleseed site.

The 25 yard event really helped my marksmanship and it was a lot of fun. Once you attend the basic Appleseed there are other classes such as rimfire known distance out to 100-200 yards, center fire known distance out to 500 yards and an unknown distance class which is worth the trip down to the NRA Whittington Center in Raton, NM out to 900.

It is great for all ages and skill levels.

Best money you will spend for a rifle marksman class bar none. The skills you will learn in Appleseed are useful across several shooting disciplines. Bang for the buck, it is probably the most valued shooting clinic I have taken and it is very friendly towards beginners. I wish that Appleseed had been around 30 years ago so that I could have benefited from it as a kid

Ensure you have a presighted rifle that will reliability run 500 rounds with at least two ten round magazines (more is better). 10/22 style 22 rifles are the gold standard for this class, even easier if you have a medium length mag release lever and have two mags bundled together with High tower armory 2 mag couplers. This makes the required mag changes during the course of fire easy to accomplish. Instructors are very knowledgeable and helpful for all skill levels.

Thanks for the info. I planned to bring my 10/22 for it, any of my centerfire rifles are too expensive to shoot that many rounds.
