View Full Version : Custom "tactical" (errgh) harness for my Rott
This is Jayne. Jayne needs to start carrying his own water and snacks when we go for hikes (so molle would be nice). Before I buy something from China, is there anyone local making good kit that wants to do a custom fit harness? Is eggroll still around?

Can't answer your question...but Jayne is gorgeous. Even if she looks slightly rabid in that pic! [Tooth]

Thank you. Look closer. Jayne is a he. :p Named after the Hero of Canton himself --- and just as ornery.

The Bowers boys had one of their shop doggy (Zeus/Apollo/Odin/?) Very cool Rottie too. For less tacticool, I think mountainsmith makes something, and they used to be a Colorado company, not sure if they still are.

OK... LOL! I thought Jayne was packing a package but wasn't sure. And I didn't make the obvious connection. Apologies to Jayne!

"Jayne is a girl's name."
"Yeah, well Jayne ain't a girl!"
Eggroll is still around. Still sewing too.
Can’t help but that’s a good looking pup!
Why does her tail point forward?
Great looking Rotty! I used to have a harness for my rotty back in the day, was back in the early 2000's and can't remember what brand it was but yeah, I would load him up with one of those collapsible dishes and some snacks on one side and a platypus water bladder on the other.
Why does her tail point forward?
So you can track 'em in the snow.

There's just so much I don't know about dogs!

I could use a harness for this knucklehead.
They pull less, or are at least easier to control, when the harness attaches at their chest instead of their shoulders. Helps save your arms when a rabbit bolts away when you're not paying attention. Won't keep your beer from being spilled though.

Well I only use pinch collars on my Rotties. The harness is for load bearing only. They are bred as cart dogs, so I want to put him to work, especially in a bug out scenario.
Sorry. But I had too. This is our 1.5yo ODIN. He has a molle vest we got online, not pictured.
Not a purebred-mixed with Lab-but Ziva, about 10.5 yrs, loves Rotties

+1 on Ray Allen products. We have had excellent results with their leather harness on our GSD.
