Ruger 10/22 locally?

Anyone have any leads on a plain Jane ruger 10/22 locally (denver area)? I haven't been able to find one and want to get one soonish for my 8 year old son. Thanks

There were a couple at the Scheels in Loveland as of Friday, at least one of which was the wood stock variety. Also one on the used rack for cheap, as I recall. I was in there looking for a CZ 457 Scout for my 10 year old.

I have a 10/22 that I never shoot and would otherwise lend you for as long as you wanted, but it is integrally suppressed.

I think you get more bang for your buck from the Thompson Center 10/22 copies (https://www.tcarms.com/firearms/semi-automatic/t-cr22).

That may allow you to expand your options.

I've seen them at Whistling Pines (https://whistlingpinesgunclub.com/) East in the past, don't know if they currently have any, but I'd call both clubs and check.

Any idea the price? Their website isn't very helpful, I live near the thornton one and was going to check it out this weekend before scheels as I have a gift card there. Haven't seen them in stock lately though.

That looks like a really good deal but I wanted to get a ruger mostly so he can tinker with it and mod it as time goes on.

if I had lots of $ to burn, I would like to get Fortner action Ruger 10/22. I think Volquartsen Summit makes one. There is another pink thick barrel online, and I hope I can get that one. I already bought Volquartsen Hogue stock for .92 barrel off of clearance about year ago. :)

I have a Summit, from before Volquartsen bought the design from Primary Weapons Systems.

I would not classify it as a true Fortner action, since you don't return the bolt to battery with your thumb.

But it is a toggle action that's pretty cool!

Not only was i impressed with the overall fit and function of it. After his 25, then 50 yd sight in, he went to 100, with a slight wind. He was nailing it @ 100, consistently.

Told me he has a 22 can waiting approval, based how quiet my bolt action 22's are, suppressed. You'll probably only hear the firing pin on that rifle .

This rifle is on my bucket list of guns. Maybe for our anniversary i'll but the wife one.
