I'm curious about this as well. My only experience with Scheel's was seven - eight years ago in Bismarck, ND. I wasn't overly impressed. Given the choice Cabela's and Sportsman's Warehouse, I'd choose them. I've been curious if that was how Scheel's operated or if it was a regional thing.

Scheel's in Johnstown / Loveland is really good, my daughter and I love it. They're stock-challenged at times like all gun dealers, but their staff is super helpful and they get shipments every day. Plus, they'll price match virtually anyone, which is awesome.

I respect their true "All Sport" Marketing- not "All PC Sport" or "All Urban and Suburban Sport". They have the square footage to back it up.

Stopped by a bit before closing, they had ammo (3 box limit) and some reloading powders and bullets available, primers all gone, pricing wasn't too bad for now. Had a 2 minute to get in, no wait in the reloading section and 10 mins to the ammo section

I went around 1600. 10 minutes to get in, another 10 for ammo. No wait for reloading. Had shotshell primers and magnum small rifle primers while in was there. Veteran/ military discount. Lots of other stuff to see as well. Surprised to see McDermott cues and LEM products. Vast majority of cstomers were oblivious to what was going on around them.

I happy that we have an another "all sports" option again. Sport Authority gone. Dicks might as well be gone because I won't support them.

I've not been yet, but seems like Scheels fits the market nicely.

They need to build a 3rd location in the metro area.

The "NEW" places like Bass Pro and Sheels are closer to the center of Monument (3 miles) than the center of Colorado Springs (18 miles)
It will have to be reported at spectacular for me to make the trip from eastern El Paso county.
I have only made the trip once to the Springs are Bass Pro and was very disappointed after visiting KC Bass Pro.

We need Academy Sports in eastern Colorado Springs not up north in Monument. That would put Dicks out of business!

Academy is a flea market compared to Scheels--in every way and in every department.

Walked in no wait at 4pm today. Nicely stocked store with every sport category imaginable. Ammo limited to 3 boxes per person, 15 minute line, but they had just about every ammo type available still, including all the popular calibers. Was able to pick up some hornady 140 eld match 6.5 creedmoor at a price of $33/20. That is inflated to my normal pricing but the first time I’ve been able to get some in a while. They also had a fair number of powders in one pound size. Primers were all gone except shotgun. Bullets were starting to thin out as well, I would estimate at 20% of normal.

Overall I was impressed with the store, priced a little high but I would go to Scheels over bass/cabelas. About even with sportsmans warehouse on comparable items, but scheels has a whole lot more categories of things to purchase.

Scheels is my go-to. It's about an hour and 10 minutes from here, and I go there over bass pro (40 minutes), Cabelas (45) and Sportsmans (50)

Their fishing section alone is very good. Last summer, nobody had anything, but Scheels did.

I'm a kid in a candy store in that place.

2-3 minute ammo waiting line today. Still good stock on hand.

Compared to what's normal out there today, fantastic prices.

Still a decent amount of ammo, though some common calibers were missing. No more powder in reloading.

A lot of employees everywhere in the store to help if you couldn?t find something.

Did they put a Farris wheel in the center of the store down there too?
