Found my spot yesterday, now I just need to figure out if the shoulder of the ramp from west bound 70 to 270 across the field from Bass Pro Shops is considered public land and huntable..

Turkeys have been on the move last few days out here.

About 200 tend to gather for the winter and break into smaller flocks in the spring.

Watched 30-50 move across our property this morning. Headed to summer habitat a mile west of us.

Several Tom's strutted in full plumage the whole time.

will be headed back to Kansas in 2 weeks to try to fill a couple turkey tags with archery gear.

Good luck out there!

Been a while since I went after turkey, got turned off after I saved pref points for a good area only to have people running their dogs thru the SWA.

My 8 year old got one with a bow this year on film in Nebraska, his first animal period. To say im a proud dad is an understatement.. me on the other hand am stricking our. But his hunt already made my year so im over it :-)

However im also going to Kansas next weekend and at some point back to NE.. these Colorado birds are far and few between... some day I'll get a CO bird... but did I mention my 8 year old shot a freaking turkey with a bow???

That’s awesome! I just hope I see one while I have my bow in hand. Last year I saw turkeys while elk and deer hunting, during turkey season they were nowhere to be found.
