View Full Version : Probably the Greatest Threat Yet
Court packing to be introduced. USSC to be expanded to 13 members.

If this happens, I predict civil war or worse. I hope not, but I can see this being the final straw.

Can't possibly be a threat. Someone right on this forum said there was no threat from the federal gov't...only the state.

Even a lot of Democrats know that this is playing with fire. After all, there's a good possibility the Republicans will again control all three elected branches and what then - expand to 19? 23? 35?
The other thing is that SCOTUS doesn't have any actual power to enforce its rulings, only the executive branch can do that.
If SCOTUS is seen as just another political branch of government, then its authority pretty much disappears and it isn't long before its edicts simply get ignored by the states or even the national government (such as the case where President Andrew Jackson stated "Chief justice Marshal has issued his decision. Now let HIM enforce it.")

Watching the press conference now. Nothing but lies and calling you and I racist for supporting the republicans that have packed the court with white men. The court is not balanced because there are no Asian American, Native American or black women on the court.
What is so disheartening is that there are so many people that actually believe the bullshit these racist, fascist and communist are pushing. So sad where this country is going.

Pelosi said "no".
First thing she has said that I agree with (Never end a sentence with a preposition or a proposition)
I don't think this will go any where, for now. Even hiden Biden hasn't gotten warm and fuzzy with it and I believe there are still enough Dems. that know it's not a good idea, maybe even political suicide, for them at this point. NOT that it won't gain traction with time, but for now, I think it's dead in the water.
Biden loves the shotgun approach, just shooting in the air.... He's the next Jimmy Carter "Crow"...
Biden loves the shotgun approach
As did former vice president Dick Cheney I believe.

Pelosi is just buying time for Bidens new "kommission" to appear to have legitimacy and provide political cover for the Dems. In no way is Pelosi against it.

Anything less than civil war and Americans deserve to lose everything.

Going? It's been in the shitter, for some time now. Trumps time in office shined a light on to the democrats true agenda.

I agree, this should be a line in the sand. But I think the people will accept it. There is a lot of apathy, comfort, lack of organization, and shock at the pace things are happening. I have talked to several friends about these kind of things. I often hear "What can I do, without losing what I have". From their perspective, they have written letters and called their representatives without any acknowledgement, live quiet lives, and don't have an activist bone in their bodies. They are scared of being canned by their employer or it hurting their career in some way. You guys probably know many, many folks like this. I won't say what I will/would do, but it does weigh on me daily.
