Did the usual youtube videos, solved one problem, but the Safety will go on with the hammer forward, and the safety fails to hold the hammer back when cocked, some of the time.

Here are the details. 80% lower milled out on a Ghost Gunner 3 (I know, maybe a little out of spec?) EDT DM HIPERFIRE trigger using the 4 1/2 pound trigger spring. First problem was the hammer would double, fire, hold trigger back, cycle the BCG, release trigger, and the hammer would fall. Youtube videos had me file down the forward bottom edge of the Disconnector, did that and it solved problem. Now the Safety (have tried 3 different ones) can be put on SAFE with the hammer down (forward), and when the hammer is cocked, safety on, a pull on the trigger will sometimes cause the hammer to fall.

I see how when the SAFE is on and blocks the trigger from being pulled, sometimes this works perfectly, sometimes a hard pull will cause the hammer to fall with the safety on. I am thinking the rear portion of the trigger mechanism needs a little metal height added to insure a more positive engagement on SAFE.

Anyone experience anything like an AR firing with the SAFE on and a pull of the trigger?

Does the floor of the receiver look real thin? Could have been milled too deep.
I had an issue on my first one where the safety wouldn't set because I didn't go deep enough, sounds like you have the opposite issue.
From the top edge to the floor should be 1.25", I believe

I've learned that the pressure put on by the magazine, does weird things with the trigger/loading.

Try loading the magazine to 80-90% and see how she performs.

00tec, will check and maybe try shimming under the trigger......

Spot of JB weld would shim it rather well. File to fit

Get a JP one that is adjustable with the set screw . The dimension between the arm off of the back of the trigger and the bearing cam surface on the safety isn't correct.

I'd suggest you try comparing your 80% hole locations to a factory receiver (if you've got one). Transfer punches or round stock will let you know if, and by how much your holes are off, and you can compare depths if you've got a caliper or depth gauge.

It's probable that your selector hole is high, but your hammer and trigger pin holes could be slightly off. The only time I've seen the behavior you describe is on plastic lowers, where the plastic receiver and/or plastic FCG have enough flex to allow this behavior. And if you can squeeze hard and get the hammer to fall with the safety engaged, it's not really a safety any longer - it's just an ornament.

GG machines are fairly precise, but not perfect. They are very sensitive to making sure the bit is fully seated, and position in the jig is critical. Must be fully seated and snug. I have had to hand fit some brands of trigger parts using a Dremel and sanding drums/discs.

Thanks for the input. Have the hole specs off of www.hiperfire.com (http://www.hiperfire.com) on FAQ’s (which lowers work with EDM DM triggers) and will measure..... also a question into Hiperfire support with their advice. The JB WELD idea could work..... got to get this running for practice and a early June 4-7 FRONTSIGHT class.
